Kibbutz Sasa saves the lives of countless American troops with its advanced armor technologies. Ambassador Shapiro saw this first hand on January 30 when he visited the Plasan factory in northern Galilee. The Ambassador saw the full range of products, from reactive armor, to purpose built vehicles, to body armor. Plasan has delivered more than 8,000 armor kits to U.S units on active duty.

Israel is a world leader in armor technology and the Ambassador expressed his gratitude for the dedication to quality expressed at Plasan.

Nestled in the forested hills of northern Israel, Kibbutz Sasa does more than just forge armor, they also forge connections. Their unique theater program called Bereshit l'Shalom brings young people together from all sectors of Israeli society. Jews, Arabs, Druze, or Circassian, all use the art of theater and dance to express the importance of working across society's boundaries to interact with others based on similarities, not differences. This successful program has performed throughout Israel and Europe.

Following a 401st Army Field Support Brigade command brief and a tour of the AFSBn-Bagram, Logistics Task Force Bagram redistribution property assistance team area, Maj. Gen. Robert S. Ferrell, Communications-Electronics Command commanding general and Brig. Gen. Kevin J. O’Connell, Joint Munitions and Lethality Command and Joint Munitions Command commanding general got a chance to meet some of their employees assigned to the 401st who support the Warfighter across the Combined Joint Operations Area-Afghanistan Mar. 19.

About the 401st:

The 401st Army field Support Brigade provides Soldiers, Sailors, Airman, and Marines, the tools and resources necessary to complete the mission. If they shoot it, drive it, fly it, wear it, eat it or communicate with it, the 401st helps provide it. The brigade assists coalition partners with many of their logistical and sustainment needs. The brigade also handles the responsible disposition of equipment in Afghanistan to support evolving missions. We are the single link between Warfighters in the field, and working through Army Sustainment Command, we leverage Army Materiel Command’s worldwide Materiel Enterprise to develop, deliver, and sustain materiel to ensure a dominant joint force for the U.S. and our Allies.

A U.S. military convoy enters the village of Shinkay, Dec. 21. With an unobstructed 360-degree view of the surrounding area, MRAP gunners are the eyes and ears of the truck, providing over-watch for the personnel inside the heavily armored vehicles and information to the truck commander. This photo was taken by an Air Force photojournalist assigned to Provincial Reconstruction Team Zabul to show some of the views from the gunner's seat atop an MRAP in Afghanistan.

This is a 1:16 scale model of M-ATV MRAP vehicle, customized according to our customer's requirements. This model is meant for trade shows and presentations, therefore it produced from high durability plastic, metal and reinforced with metal and carbon fiber.

This model was designed in 3D software based on the earlier 3D models of the 1:8 scale models of the M-ATV MRAPs. The customized enclosure/cargo compartment was produced by rapid prototyping. In order to reduce the model's cost we used a pre-producted replica of a base M-ATV, which we upgraded and adopted to accommodate this custom enclosure and accompanying components. The model was assembled and finished manually.

The model is mounted on a mahogany base with a clear protective cover. It is packed in a military grade Pelican transit case with a customized foam lining.

The model was appreciated by the customer for its quality, accuracy and high level of details. In a week after submission the model headed to its first trade show.

The Wolfhound Heavy Tactical Support Vehicle (TSV) is a British modification of the Cougar 6x6 and closely related to the Mastiff PPV.

The major injury was that the driver broke some ribs on the steering wheel, which was obviously designed to deform on impact.

Engineers recently timed an MRAP armored vehicle for potential launch pad evacuation routes as preparations for Commercial Crew flights move ahead. The 45,000-pound MRAP is a great improvement over the M113 used during the space shuttle era in many regards. Larger and more powerful, the MRAP offers a mobile bunker to astronauts and ground crews in the unlikely event they have to get away from the launch pad quickly in an emergency.
