Kibbutz Sasa saves the lives of countless American troops with its advanced armor technologies. Ambassador Shapiro saw this first hand on January 30 when he visited the Plasan factory in northern Galilee. The Ambassador saw the full range of products, from reactive armor, to purpose built vehicles, to body armor. Plasan has delivered more than 8,000 armor kits to U.S units on active duty.

Israel is a world leader in armor technology and the Ambassador expressed his gratitude for the dedication to quality expressed at Plasan.

Nestled in the forested hills of northern Israel, Kibbutz Sasa does more than just forge armor, they also forge connections. Their unique theater program called Bereshit l'Shalom brings young people together from all sectors of Israeli society. Jews, Arabs, Druze, or Circassian, all use the art of theater and dance to express the importance of working across society's boundaries to interact with others based on similarities, not differences. This successful program has performed throughout Israel and Europe.

Over 4,000 Cougars in multiple variants have been produced for the US military alone, mostly for the USMC. The British have made their own variants of the Cougar (Mastiff, Ridgeback, Wolfhound) for their deployment in Afghanistan and the Iraqis have acquired over 350 Badger ILAV (Iraqi Light Armored Vehicle) variants. Many other countries have bought Cougar variants in smaller numbers.

Giant 1:4 scale, 4 feet long model of up-armored HMMWV (Humvey) built by Gamla Model Makers for US Army. For more photos and a story go to www.lifeinscale.net/HMMWV_main.asp

One of the most exciting projects of 2015 was development and creation of this large 1:8 scale model. It depicts an All-Terrain MRAP Vehicle (M-ATV) in Standard Configuration.

As all our models it was developed in 3D software and a digital tooling was created, which was used to produce selected parts and components. Most of the parts and components were produced by rapid prototyping, using nylon for over 80% of these parts. In addition some of the nylon parts were also reinforced by metal, which made them even more durable. From the experience we know how important it is for the trade show model to be durable and able to withstand the duress of travel, frequent packing/unpacking and exhibiting. Therefore we constantly increase and perfect durability of each next model that we produce.

The model was highly appreciated and recognized by the client for its accuracy and high level of detailing. It will possibly be followed by a series of smaller scale executive desktop models (multiples).

Prices start at US $150,000

This is a 1:16 scale model of M-ATV MRAP vehicle, customized according to our customer's requirements. This model is meant for trade shows and presentations, therefore it produced from high durability plastic, metal and reinforced with metal and carbon fiber.

This model was designed in 3D software based on the earlier 3D models of the 1:8 scale models of the M-ATV MRAPs. The customized enclosure/cargo compartment was produced by rapid prototyping. In order to reduce the model's cost we used a pre-producted replica of a base M-ATV, which we upgraded and adopted to accommodate this custom enclosure and accompanying components. The model was assembled and finished manually.

The model is mounted on a mahogany base with a clear protective cover. It is packed in a military grade Pelican transit case with a customized foam lining.

The model was appreciated by the customer for its quality, accuracy and high level of details. In a week after submission the model headed to its first trade show.
