We returned to the Marshall Gulch trailhead and then hiked up the Aspen Trail to the aspen grove, November 1979.

I joined Ned and the gang on the second of the summer Mount Lemmon hikes on August 5 2015. We hiked the loop formed by the Mt. Lemmon Trail and the Meadow Trail (formerly the Power Line Road and the Lemmon Park Trail) at the top of the mountain.

The cholla spines easily come off if you brush up against it. Once you get one in you, it's hard to get it out. Fortunately I don't have any first-hand experience of this.

The road to Marshall Gulch was closed for several years due to sewage pollution from Summerhaven. After several years of no maintenance it just about disappeared.

There was a huge forest fire in June 2003. The forest hasn't fully recovered yet.

A fungus rich environment. I checked climate records for 1981 and Tucson had over six inches of rain the month before, which might explain it.

Desert Adventures, a gay & lesbian camping and hiking group, hosted this campout on Mount Lemmon outside of Tucson, Arizona.
A trip up the Mount Lemmon Highway to Lemmon Park and Radio Ridge in late spring, 1979. The slides were stamped May, but I think processing of they must have been delayed while we were on vacation and they got out or order.
