This Junco has piercing eyes. This species is only found in the mountains of Arizona and New Mexico above 6,000 feet.

Not far from the Davis Spring and Knagge Trail Junction Sign I found this trashed campsite - it was spooky at first until it became more clear that it was fairly old - needs a clean up!

I joined Ned and the gang on the second of the summer Mount Lemmon hikes on August 5 2015. We hiked the loop formed by the Mt. Lemmon Trail and the Meadow Trail (formerly the Power Line Road and the Lemmon Park Trail) at the top of the mountain.

The canyon on the right contains Araster Spring, the canyon on the left is Edgar Canyon on the USGS maps.
Went camping up here last week! Its a cool 70 degrees at the lake, over 100 degrees already in Tucson!!!

Mount Lemmon June 08 2008, the fire damage is still clear, new parking lots installed, lots of pavement now. Its bigger, its spacier, its butt-ugly as well. BTW: If you look at the PREVIOUS image, the lodge was located app. where the yellow pedestrian sign is showing, so I'm about 30 feet to the LEFT of the original film exposure. By going back and forth between the images you can see the loss of the trees that has taken place.
