My wife stood at the trail to the Main peak, 3,416 m(11,207 ft) of the Mount Hehuan looking at the higher mountain far away called Mount Qilai, 3,607 m (11,834 ft). Clouds were below us. :-)

Got lucky with the sunset and the colours this evening. Made the hour long trek through the bush worth it.
The rain stopped and the cloud lifted as we walked down the track to the bridge looking onto the Mount and Lake Cavell, there was a break in the cloud and sun shone down on the emerald waters of the lake. Mt Edith Cavell is named after the the celebrated British Nurse who indiscriminately saved the lives of both British and German soldiers during the 1st World War.

Fed up with being trapped in our houses in the suburbs during Covid, a friend and I took up hiking and spent the year exploring the Pacific Northwest where we could be safely distanced. On this particular day the sunlight and the fall foliage came together to paint a beautiful contrast with the snowy landscape
Mount Kangchenjunga or Khangchendzonga with an elevation of 8,586 meter (28,169 feet) is the third highest mountain of the world. It is called Five Treasures of Snow after its five high peaks.The Tibetan words are: Kang (Snow) chen (Big) dzö (Treasury) nga (Five).
The main peak of Khangchendzonga is the second highest mountain in Nepal after Mount Everest. Three of the five peaks – Main, Central and South – are on the border between North Sikkim and Nepal.Two peaks are in the Taplejung District, Nepal.
Until 1852, Khangchendzonga was assumed to be the highest mountain in the world, but calculations based on various readings and measurements made by the Great Trigonometrical Survey of India in 1849 came to the conclusion that Mount Everest, known as Peak XV at the time, was the highest. Allowing for further verification of all calculations, it was officially announced in 1856 that Khangchendzonga is the third highest mountain.
It is widely regarded as the guardian deity of Sikkim.
The sunsets on Mount Abu are infamous, hoards of people go to Sunset Point armed with cameras.
My grandmother was telling me that when the sun sets here it looks like the Earth. I watched the setting sun carefully and noticed there were shapes that formed on the sun like land shapes on our Earth. The sun doesn't set like it does in the UK- colouring the sky orange and slowly getting dark. The sun literally seems to drop out of the sky, and it seemed to get dark pretty quick.
Mount Edgecumbe was named by Captain James Cook in October 1769 after Sergeant Edgecombe, a sergeant of marines on the Endeavour. The mountain rises to 820m above sea level and every year a 'King of the Mountain' race is run with proceeds being donated to charity. The mountain's official name was changed back to Putauaki in 1925.

Mount Hood, called Wy'east by the Multnomah tribe, is a potentially active stratovolcano in the Cascade Volcanic Arc of northern Oregon. Mount Hood is considered the Oregon volcano most likely to erupt, though based on its history, an explosive eruption is unlikely. Still, the odds of an eruption in the next 30 years are estimated at between 3 and 7 percent, so the U.S. Geological Survey characterizes it as "potentially active", but the mountain is informally considered dormant.
Mount Grace Priory lies in the parish of East Harlsey, North Yorkshire. It is the best preserved of the nine medieval Carthusian houses in England. It was founded in 1398 by Thomas Holland, 1st Duke of Surrey, the son of King Richard II's half-brother Thomas, Earl of Kent. It was the last monastery established in Yorkshire, and one of the few founded anywhere in Britain in the period between the Black Death (1349–50) and the Reformation. It was a fairly small establishment, with space for a prior and twenty-three monks.
Mount Grace Priory consisted of a church and two cloisters. The Great Cloister, to the north of the church, had seventeen cells for monks whilst the southern Lesser Cloister had six cells for the lay brothers. (Wikipedia)
Today you can visit a reconstructed monk's cell and enjoy the beautiful gardens as well as the tranquility of the ruins.
Mount Baker, also known as Koma Kulshan or simply Kulshan, is an active glaciated andesitic stratovolcano in the Cascade Volcanic Arc and the North Cascades of Washington in the United States. Mount Baker has the second-most thermally active crater in the Cascade Range after Mount Saint Helens. This view was taken from Boundary Bay in Richmond, BC, Canada near a small airport, just outside Vancouver. If Baker ever erupts, Vancouver will likely be covered in ash. Baker is about 110 km from Vancouver. This photo was taken with a 300 mm lens on my new Nikon Z7 and processed with Nik Silver Efex Pro 2 software in Photoshop CC 2018 to enhance the clarity and contrast of the mountain which was hazy on a beautiful autumn day here.

Mount Shasta (Karuk: Úytaahkoo or "White Mountain") is a potentially active volcano at the southern end of the Cascade Range in Siskiyou County, California.
Mount Chapin (elevation 12,454 ft.) is part of the trilogy which makes up the southern part of the Mummy Range which extends north away from and to the right of the vantage point shown here. It is the smallest of the three peaks which also include Mount Chiquita (13,069 ft.) and Ypsilon Mountain, (13,514 ft.). Mt. Chapin is similar to the other peaks of the Mummy Range in that it has a steep south face with a gradually sloped northwestern side. The southern face, which is most visible here, is comprised of sheer cliffs and ledges which drop nearly 2,500 ft. to the Fall River below.
