Panorama of Curiosity images (from part of the large 360° panorama I posted a while ago) showing Mount Sharp. The foreground is relatively unchanged but I removed the background and replaced it with a reasonable-looking color gradient (the the gradient indicating an early evening scene with the sun setting to the right, behind the rim of Gale Crater)- there were too many jagged edges due to the shape of the original panorama. Color variant (foreground).
Traveling from Tiberias on the Sea of Galilee to Bethlehem, via Mount Tabor and Megiddo and finally ending up at our Hotel in Jerusalem.
This tropical scene is not located somewhere in South America, but is found north of Belfast, Northern Ireland, in the gardens at Mount Stewart House. Today I cropped the image to focus on the palm tree, which was one of the many things I hadn't expected to see in Northern Ireland. I was also amazed by the beauty of the manor house and gardens, which seemed to provide a surprise at every turn. One of the best things about travel is that it reminds you that life is full of surprises.
View from the north end hillside above White Pine Lake. Hiking up here I had a pounding headache. I had Altitude Sickness (acute mountain sickness), my head pounded through most of the night, but thankfully I didn't wake up with it.
