A little reading and some coffee....good props for the start of the day.
When I signed up for this class, I was determined to be involved each week. Somehow, the weeks have come and gone, life has happened in between, and here I am, feeling desperately behind and out of touch. I know there's no pressure or guilt here, but nonetheless, I am disappointed in myself. I know there are still many weeks to come, so I hope to be able to get back in the swing of things! I do miss you all!
52 of YOU: props

An early morning view of Chaukhamba Massif and Himalaya with the hills below. The sun rises on the right of the picture and the peaks are washed out in the morning. The haze adds to the mystry.
This picture is taken on the way to Chamba from Dhanaulti on a clear sunday morning of october. The months of October, November and December are known for clear views of Himalaya after the monsoon.
Chaukhamba is a mountain massif in the Gangotri Group of the Garhwal Himalaya. Its main summit, Chaukhamba I, is the highest peak in the group. It lies at the head of the Gangotri Glacier and forms the eastern anchor of the group.
Chaukamba has four summits, along a northeast-southwest trending ridge, and ranging in elevation from 7,138 metres (23,419 ft) to 6,854 m (22,487 ft) with an average elevation 7,014 m;[3] the main summit is at the northeast end.
Chaukamba I 7,138 m (23,419 ft)
Chaukamba II 7,070 m (23,196 ft)
Chaukamba III 6,995 m (22,949 ft)

This morning when I looked out my window, I saw this guy sitting here, relaxing, reading his newspaper. I've been in this campsite for a few days now, so I knew that in a couple minutes a huge sprinkler system was going to be kicking on, and there were sprinkler heads all around him. I opened my window and briefly thought about telling him this. However, being the asshole that I am, I decided instead that it would be a lot more fun to grab my camera, put on the telephoto lens, and just wait to see his reaction. Here it is.
On my way back from the beach, I saw where a break in the row of buildings was letting sunrays through; opportunity to catch some morning walker shadows.

Have a pawsome day everyone, be kind, enjoy some little thing, and be safe.
I used to chuckle at people who had to make a conscious effort to take a photograph a day. Now I'm laughing at myself.
Yesterday, I stuck a wooden bird in my hand at the last minute, because I just couldn't squeeze in a real photo. This morning, I woke up and knew it would be my only opportunity.
It is 12:33. Here's what I've done. (This is more for me than for you!)
· made the lunches & my daughter's breakfast
· walked the dogs
· put out all the paper recycling (which had to be broken down and boxed)
· went to the bank
· washed two loads of laundry
· ate breakfast
· researched and wrote three pages of King Cake history.
I've got a wicked, gurgling stomach, but I'm trying to ignore it.
It was a frosty cold morning. Later in the day we got some snow. I love this cold, but I wish for more snow. Though I have to admit that the frosty landscape is no less beautiful.
I am learning to use texture in my photographs. The textures are created by me, and applied in these series from today. Let me know how am I doing with it.
Mount Bromo (Indonesian: Gunung Bromo), is an active volcano and part of the Tengger massif, in East Java, Indonesia. At 2,329 metres (7,641 ft) it is not the highest peak of the massif, but is the most well known. The massif area is one of the most visited tourist attractions in East Java, Indonesia. The volcano belongs to the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. The name of Bromo derived from Javanese pronunciation of Brahma, the Hindu creator god.
Mount Bromo sits in the middle of a vast plain called the "Sea of Sand" (Javanese: Segara Wedi or Indonesian: Lautan Pasir), a protected nature reserve since 1919. The typical way to visit Mount Bromo is from the nearby mountain village of Cemoro Lawang. From there it is possible to walk to the volcano in about 45 minutes, but it is also possible to take an organised jeep tour, which includes a stop at the viewpoint on Mount Penanjakan (2,770 m or 9,088 ft) (Indonesian: Gunung Penanjakan). The viewpoint on Mount Penanjakan can also be reached on foot in about two hours. From inside the caldera, sulfur is collected by workers.
morning coffee on a Thursday morning. A wierd angle and it looks distorted but I like it. Almost the weekend!
Another picture of early morning dew. I know I've already posted one earlier this week, but somehow, these dancing dew drops just make me happy :-)
