Joo Chiat, Singapore. CineStill 800T 35mm film.

My first fashion studio portrait done at Singapore Art Museum organised by Clubsnap Singapore, sooc except some slight cropping and watermark/borders :p

I was very impressed by the umberlla, strobist, remote trigger and whatnots stuff that the professionals used, guess I will never be able to afford those in my lifetime :p

Portrait taken using my new baby 50mm f1.4 :D

Hope you had a great weekend my friends, thanks for your visit and comments :p

Snapped on McKenzie Highway from the passenger seat. McKenzie Highway winds through fields of lava rock, recent forest fire aftermath, and eventually lush beautiful moody forests again. It's a very beautiful place.

ODC - MOODY BLUES

These are actually very happy kids, the serious pose was at my request.

A portrait of a friends dog. Somewhat resembling that of a moody teenager. Just a note I have realised, the dog is always looking right at you! Taken with a Canon EOS 400D Digital.

A jungle story about Miss Gibbon.

We'll get to the story soon enough.

Plus that will give you enough time

to figure out whats not right here ?

First, 5:12AM, I'm winging it down

a side road filled with pot-holes.

Came upon Sukhumvit Rd and

turned left in an easterly direction.

That means left towards Cambodia.

At the desired spot I lean right onto

small narrow jungle roads that takes

me all the way to The Monkey Temple.

Mr Leg Man and his silly crew of three

jumping, leaping, funny dogs are out

sweeping the road as usual. Pulled

up an dismounted my ride while

leaving it running. 2 large bags

of kibble are handed off plus

a bag of frozen left overs

is poured on the ground.

Mr Little Larry, Miss Molly and Blondie

instantly became vacuum-cleaners ;-)

Mounted my ride and took off for

The Dog Palace. Wanted to beat

Mama/Rocky to my parking spot.

Which I did but only by seconds,

6:29AM -

Bingo Room is opened and the

same same routine took place.

Food and medicines are packed

in the old cotton cloth bag that is

always worn bandoleer style across

my chest. Bug repellent is smeared

up and down and all around my legs.

Scrubbed my hands real good, then

readied the Nikon by hanging it on my

right shoulder, locked and loaded, lets go.

With Rocky on point and Mama next to me

we head for the broken concrete walking

bridge. Not many monkeys this morning ?

Targeted destination is the nuns place.

Came around the corner between the

two bungalows and Little Bean Brain

is tied up with his cone going nuts.

And yes it's Monday and this is

my intended target, cone

was cut off and just

like that, poof --

Little Bean Brain Mickey is crashing into

Mama, Rocky, Me, The Nuns, Little Stubby

and then we all took off for The Spirit House.

At The Spirit House there was two strange dogs

across the road on the bridge into the mangroves.

Now Little Mickey is really so full of himself he runs

across the road and challenges the two midsize dogs.

Rocky is on over-watch from the top step where they

always eat. Mama has scooted in close on my right side.

As if on cue, strange dog snarls at Mickey, Mickey returns

his version of a big dog snarl, Rocky is in motion !

Like a blur of fur Rocky crashes into the

offender an knocks him over like

a bowling pin, Other dog

just, vanished ?

The offender had all the wind knocked out of him and is

struggling to gain any purchase with his 4 shaken legs.

And just like his dad, Mr Brown, Rocky just stood over

him with an audible rumble coming from his chest.

In due time Rocky walked away leaving said

offender to slink back into the jungle.

Being aggressive with Mickey is a

way huge big no no x 10 !

There's a rule I like the dogs to follow ...

If you're polite then we are just as polite in return.

If you're aggressive, then that's your last mistake !

About 43 minutes later we're back at the nuns where

lots of attention was handed out to any willing taker.

In reality that means all of them wanted more then

their quota allotment allows, I was there a long time.

So here we go, Mama escorts me down to the border

line where The Hooligans live. She lays and waits 4 me.

Now The Hooligans are another freak side show of

complete loony toonies going absolutely bonkers !

And that's before they really let loose an go nuts !

Fresh medicine was applied to the open sores

on the back of the horse. Starting to look good.

Guppies received their fair ration of fish food.

Next stop, Miss Gibbon ---

I'll take a wild guess here, most of ya figured it out.

Why is Miss Gibbon inside her cage with the blue tube ?

A cage she can come an go from at her own whim.

Well here's how it went down, and it went down fast !

What has become a routine between the two of us

has taught me a quick lesson about wild animals.

One that I should have seen coming but also

one that doesn't surprise me in the least !

She has always been so polite an calm.

But not this time, she was explosive !

As the blue tube was being eased through the cyclone

pointing at a downward angle in order for the puppy

kibble to slide out onto the board , Booooooom !!!

Gibbon crashes into the cyclone and violently

yanks the tube out of my hand while hissing

and showing her old worn jagged fangs !

Stepped back and started shooting.

She took the tube and looked into the open end.

Then as shown here she starts slowly tapping it

on the board making puppy kibble slide out.

And just as slowly she begins to eat a meal.

So,

Next time the tube will have a short leash attached.

Yes I did retrieve the tube when she had finished ;-)

Next Mama and I go back across the broken walking

bridge. Through the east side of The DMZ and into

The Dog Palace to give Molly & Crew more food.

Then like reverse engineering The Bingo Room is

shut down and secured till my next visit, 2 days ?

Scooter is repacked then with Mama in tow we

head back over to the nuns place. K9 maintenance

starts all over again. Brushing, toenail clipping and

general observation for any tics or dings/dents. ;-)~

9:31AM.

Nuns always put out a fresh dog water bucket

for me to wash up in.No big deal this is jungle

life. Sometimes it's slow as molasses in winter.

Other times it's not ! Mounted the scooter and

took off for home. Once home 3 more silly dogs

start in sniffing every part of my body.Once done

I'm allowed to pass but not one second before ;-)~

I started doing this as the sunny day it was when I took the reference photo a few years ago, then I changed it as I felt it needed to be more green and gold, almost earthy, in an undefined mood, as if the weather couldn't decide what it was doing - to stay or leave, similar to what was happening in my life at the time.

Moody skies over Shoreham this evening, so not an evening to linger as I pedalled home from work.

These solidly built, medium-displacement cruisers are capable of a very reasonable pace in open seas, where they offer a particularly sea-kindly motion. Thanks to the inboard genoa tracks they do point quite close – up to 33° in fact, although they lose a lot of speed when pinched that tight. Her favourite point of sail is around 50-55° off the apparent wind, when she surges forward relentlessly, oblivious to the sea state.

The Moody 36 is also easy to sail singlehanded, with all the sail control lines and winches within easy reach in the compact cockpit, and you’re not going to get shoulder cramps if you have to hand-steer her for hours on end, either. Nor are you going to become bruised and battered if the seas come up when you’re working at the galley, where the chunky fiddles act as solid handholds. You’ll feel very secure making your way forward on deck, with one hand firmly clutching the wooden handrails.

On a reach the she is capable of averaging 6.5-7.5 knots in all but the choppiest waters. She does lack downwind performance, so needs a big fat spinnaker to really get her tramping along.
