In the afternoon of our second day we we to Poḷonnaruwa.

The ancient city of Polonnaruwa remains one of the best planned archaeological relic sites in the country, standing testimony to the discipline and greatness of the Kingdom's first rulers.

Its beauty was also used as a backdrop to filmed scenes for the Duran Duran music video Save a Prayer in 1982.

The ancient city of Polonnaruwa has been declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO.

Yum. Looks good. Gibraltar is actually covered in monkeys who are very docile, given that they have no natural predators.

The Barbary macaque population in Gibraltar is the only wild monkey population in the European continent, and, unlike that of North Africa, it is thriving. At present, some 300 animals in five troops occupy the area of the Upper Rock area of the Gibraltar Nature Reserve, though occasional forays into the town may result in damage to personal property. As they are a tailless species, they are also known locally as Barbary apes or rock apes, despite being monkeys (Macaca sylvanus). The local people simply refer to them as monos (English: monkeys) when conversing in Spanish or Llanito (the local vernacular).

Baby cute monkey! He is hiding behind his mom while my friend handed Mama Monkey a peanut.

Monkeys are a pain in the ass. They're like the pigeons of Costa Rica. Though some argue that Costa Rican pigeons hold this title.

I wonder what they taste like.
