Watchful monkey that came to investigate goings on near Wondo Genet, by the camp site above the hot springs.
Trentham Monkey Forest is a 60 acre area with 140 free roaming Barbary Macaques. You get to wander amongst them - no bars and no glass between you! Awesome! Oh - and they currently have 12 babies!
I can't even describe how unbelievable this place was. It is a mountain in between Beppu and Oita that has some 700 monkeys roaming around free. They don't leave the mountain, but they could if they wanted to.
A monkey (I forgot the name) from Chester Zoo, I used a zoom and of course I didn't use a flash or anything to upset it

They were braver than they should be. We as people ruin it when we give them an unnatural food source and they loose their fear. They didn't get close enough to touch, but it is obvious that they should have stayed father away then they did. This was brought in as close as I could. Sorry about the bumpiness. It is hard to film holding the camera over your head and watch them!
while on a nature walk on an island of costa rica we spotted these curious fellows wandering around. they were so tame, not afraid of humans at all, actually quite friendly but a tad agressive at times.
This wild monkey was roaming outside the Botanical Gardens. There were quite a few around and they are not that big, but when this cheeky one looked at me like that, I actually thought he was going to jump on me and maybe pull my hair off. Wouldn't have been the first time though!
They were adorable. Some were pretty feisty, but for the most part didn't mind me taking their photos.
Smaller monkey was stealing grass from the bigger monkey. A funny exchange then occurred, which looked like the older monkey chewing out the younger one and giving him a good talking to, and then the younger one appeared to give the older one a hug - perhaps a dad saying "show that you are grateful, you punk!"
