At Trentham Monkey Forest.

I took my daughter to a party there and the keepers kept trying to take her off me. Not sure if I brought her home or a monkey.

At Monkey World in Dorset.

The proboscis monkey (Nasalis larvatus) or long-nosed monkey, known as the bekantan in Malay, is a reddish-brown arboreal Old World monkey that is endemic to the south-east Asian island of Borneo. It belongs in the monotypic genus Nasalis, although the pig-tailed langur has traditionally also been included in this genus - a treatment still preferred by some.

The monkey also goes by the Malay name monyet belanda ("Dutch monkey"), or even orang belanda ("Dutchman"), as Indonesians remarked that the Dutch colonisers often had a similarly large belly and nose.

Got my hair done today, do you like it?

The name “colobus” is derived from the Greek word for “mutilated,” because unlike other monkeys, colobus monkeys do not have thumbs. Their beautiful black fur strongly contrasts with the long white mantle, whiskers and beard around the face and the bushy white tail. The Eastern black-and-white is distinguishable by a U-shaped cape of white hair running from the shoulders to lower back, whereas the Angolan black-and-white has white hairs flaring out only at the shoulders.

Vervet Monkey, Lake Nakuru, Kenya

This is Monkey. Don't let his cute and cuddly exterior fool you, he is a very naughty monkey!

He is always eating all the bananas in the house, swinging on the chandeliers, flinging poo at the neighbours, joyriding in my car. The list goes on...

These are the fabulous monkey cupcakes I made for Nat's monkey themed baby shower. I got a ton of oos and awes when I displayed these. You can't see the bottoms, but Reynold's just came out with designer foil baking cups, and I just happened to find yellow monkey and banana liners that very morning which according to the label, do not fade in color in the oven (they were true to their word). So perfect.

Ingredients:

Use either store bought cupcake mix or make your own

Chocolate Frosting (your own or store bought)

Nilla Wafers

M&M Minis

I'm guessing from the picture, everything else is seemingly self explanatory. Bake cupcakes. Frost. Break a wafer in half. Decorate. Stick on. Place whole wafer on for mouth, decorate. Place candies in for eyes, decorate. Eat like a wild monkey!
