A monkey sits with a kitten on a rootop in a Nairobi suburb September 2, 2002. Frail from hunger and cold, the dying white kitten lies limp in the monkey's arms. Its new "mother" will not let anyone near to feed it. The monkey has been roaming the neighbourhood for the past 18 months, snatching unattended kittens. The monkey accepts gifts of bananas from residents but has made no attempt to feed the kitten, slowly dying without its mother's milk. REUTERS/Reuters TV
Vervet Monkey - Chlorocebus pygerythrus - Черномордая мартышка

She's a spider monkey, although it's not as obvious as it should be. At her previous owner's, she was mistreated and underfed, which caused her growth to be stunted and her to look different than other spider monkeys. My favorite thing is that little combover she has.

No chance.
The focal point of my image is the stuffed animal monkey hanging on the tree branch. I used framing between my fingers and binoculars to draw attention to the monkey, while attempting to branches as leading lines. I don't believe the leading lines aspect had worked out too well, but the rule of thirds additionally helps attract the viewers eye to the subject. To create contrast I used selective exposure to darken the surrounding image around the frame, to keep the monkey as the brightest spot in the image. I was attempting to create a mysterious mood with the darkened borders as if the viewer were exploring through a jungle and happened to stumble across a monkey on a branch.
I wanted to draw some Space Monkey fan art, but decided that he has already received enough fan art from me.
So I guess this is fantasy fan art, if there is such a thing.
