I can't believe how close I was able to get to these macaques.

Locally known as swamp monkeys, they are often found in wetlands in central Africa. It is very hard to find due to its good hiding abilities, and so there is not an accurate species count.

Monkey's are considered to be an auspicious in Bhutan, and this one was seen on Losar itself.

 

This photo was taken on the drive from Punahka to Paro, and I was rather groggy at the time. I was still in the car when it was taken too. Nevertheless, I'm fairly pleased with it!

The Macaque monkeys are so common in Singapore that I normally don't pay attention to it. But this one in the forest is different. It kept looking at me as though it is inviting me to shoot. So I obliged. Too bad it does not have a computer else I send this photo to him.
