At right are two repurposed 19th century mills. Little Falls, New York.

This particular image I put together a two shot panorama of the falls. This was the very first falls we came across in the hike. I had my 24-70 lens on, and after walking through the water to get to this landing which was almost in the middle of the stream, I decided not to change to my wide-angle lens and just use the 24-70 and combine a few shots in a panorama. Worked okay but in retrospect the wider perspective might have been better. Oh well, this is what I got right?

The streams were real active. Most flow of any time I had been there. Lotta natural debris with the felled tree branches and every year more of the larger fallen trees. Oh well, nature is a wild one.

I walked outside in my yard and came upon two baby cardinals. I guess learning to fly. The parents were nearby.

After missing this train earlier in the day by 20 min we drove all the way from Port Henry back here before we caught up with him...and when we finally did a cloud rolled in at the last moment flattening out the brilliant afternoon light. But I still like this shot and want to share it. We had expected this train to be running in a 1x1 DPU configuration and were surprised when it stepped out onto the bridge with a pair of GEs on the point.

This is a 650 loaded unit ethanol train headed for the unloading terminal at CP's ex D&H Kenwood Yard at the Port of Albany. Here they are on crossing the nearly 1100 ft long lattice Warren truss deck bridge over the Mohawk River just below Cohoes Falls from the town of Waterford into Cohoes. This is about MP 9.5 on CP's Colonie Sub, the one time Delaware and Hudson Saratoga Sub mainline.

Time for a sunrise.....

Have no clue what ruffled this guys feathers....but I liked it.

Another stunning sunrise at Bombay Hook. Looking forward to the weekend when I can go back.

I've only ever seen one other place calling itself Mohawk Mini Mart; that location is on California US-66

This one caught my eye on this pass into Jerome; I had driven by it several other times without paying it a second glance. This time it seemed to call to me.

I've been wanting to give this guy a mohawk for about a year. Mommy wouldnt let me. Guess what. She's in Texas and she has no idea! She's gonna kill me when she finds out. It's more productive than clearing out our savings for a motorcycle. Well, maybe not with gas prices these days. Anyway, I digress. I think the mohawk's cute.

Seen as I walked the towpath trail in Clifton Park, New York, USA on October 31, 2020. Past peak, but still lovely!

Mohawk and Wigwam

~~~~~
Do you like exploring some of the historic abandoned places along Route 66? An abandoned wigwam in the once popular dome shaped Meteor City Trading Post along historic Route 66 in Arizona west of Winslow. I illuminated the structure with a handheld ProtoMachines LED2 during the exposure. This was part of a three-night trip with night photographer Mike Cooper, exploring the remote corners of the desert. This photo will appear in my upcoming book of history and night photography on Route 66.
I thought Mohawks had gone out of style. Haven't seen one for a while.
Mohawk rock
I think quite a few people may recognize this rock from Mount Tamalpais. It's just off the road a ways.
Hoist cables were regularly replaced, so lots of steel cable was used for reinforcing. Mohawk mill was built around 1900 and abandoned by 1932.
I thought I'd seen punk birds before but apparently I was mistaken.
