THE RAREST OF DUESENBERGS
This 1927 Duesenberg Model X Boat-Tail Roadster, a one-off creation built for the 1927 New York Auto Salon, is arguably one of the most significant and influential motorcars ever built in the United States. It is the styling prototype for the Auburn Speedster, which appeared a year later. Its design, both aesthetically and mechanically, was the seed for which enthusiasm grew for the sleek, high-performance automobiles. Launching America’s passion for personal sports cars.
Strictly a show car, this sleek roadster lacks common amenities such as windshield wipers, a convertible top and side windows. This automobile was originally purchased by the Chicago hotel magnate Edwin Kirkeby, who may have seen it at the New York auto show.
Over the decades, this Duesenberg fell into disrepair. It was under the guidance of its donor that it returned to its former glory during a four-year restoration.
This Duesenberg Model X engine has a displacement of 260 cubic-inches and produces 100-horsepower, reaching a top speed of 90 miles-per-hour. The sleek body was constructed by McFarlan, a coachbuilder from Connorsville, Indiana, and supplier of Auburn automotive bodies.

ModelX presents there Sweetest Goodbye together with Fellini Couture and White Widow.
Since june 2008 ModelX stands for highly trained experienced models, creative unique runway shows, designer parties, in-store promotional events and photoshoots for print media and advertising.
After 2,5 years ModelX decide to stop with the agency. For some people this will come as a shock but the models and some designers who knows me, know that this is the best for me at the moment. ModelX wont be sold, it will be removed from Sl. We want to give ModelX the best goodbye you can wish for. ModelX deserve to have there goodbye in a good way so everyone will remember it as something good, something creative and as a big family. By this show i want to thank my amazing staff, all my models, wich are very precious to me, and also all the designers who supported ModelX the last 2,5 years with special thanks to Fellini Couture and Angel Dessous. Still think electric cars are slow and boring? Tesla’s amazing Model X P100D does a mind-bending zero to 60 in only 2.9 seconds! The Tesla Model X is an impressive example of advanced automotive technology, so the team at our West Carrollton store excitedly welcomed the opportunity to install a radar detector and laser system, in this customer’s P100D. We have a large selection of radar and laser detection solutions available, so if you'd like to stop worrying about speeding tickets, then visit any of our four locations (California Custom Sounds Beavercreek, California Custom Sounds West Carrollton/Moraine, Stereo-In-Dash North Dixie, and Stereo-In-Dash South).

The plaque reads:
The Model X Duesenberg is the rarest passenger vehicle that Duesenberg produced. A total of thirteen were built in 1927. It has been viewed as a transitional model between Model A and Model J. In fact, it was Fred Duesenberg's attempt to revamp the model A on a shoestring budget. When E.L. Cord bought Duesenberg, he had bigger and better ideas for the next Duesenberg. This wonderful vehicle is very original and was owned by the new chief engineer of General Electric. Note the original interior, paint and hat holder in the ceiling. This is a wonderful historical record of what Fred Duesenberg had in mind for the replacement for the Model A.
The 1927 Duesenberg Model X is powered by an in-line eight-cylinder engine that produces 100 horsepower. The wheelbase measures 141 inches. The original price was approximately $7500.
Road signs, such as Stop and Caution, became uniform across the United States in 1927. Before, each state maintained their own system of signs.
