We got up early this morning and hit the road for Arkansas. I was pleasantly surprised at how much of the trip I was able to spend with Autopilot turned on. Pretty much all of my time on the highway was on Autopilot, with periodic steering wheel wiggles to let it know I was paying attention. We stopped at Superchargers, all in Oklahoma. We stopped in Ardmore (just a sad floor store), OKC (a great little outlet mall, where we were able to shop while charging), and Catoosa (a massive empty parking lot by a giant Hard Rock Hotel and Casino).
I did learn on this trip that I pretty much hate Oklahoma. This is mostly due to the fact that, after cruising along 44 we were suddenly confronted with toll signs. There was zero warning or notification that we were even on a toll road to begin with, and there were no opportunities to exit without paying the toll first, which required exact change, in cash. It was frustrating. Oklahoma, if you’re going to spring a toll on me without warning, at least have the decency to accept a debit card as payment.
We arrived in Fayetteville just in time for Emily to get her booth built before shopping began. Tonight was a special VIP show, where people paid to get in. Tomorrow’s show is all day and free to the public.
After tonight’s part of the show was over, we made the short drive to Emily’s Aunt and Uncle’s place, where we visited until I started to pass out. Their house is ridiculously cool.
