in 1963, the CB&Q Havelock Shop built 300 XM4 boxcars, 47500-47799. The last 10 were built with Transco side sheathing.

I had often wondered how to go about building one of these unique cars until Kurt Kruse, as a great modeling gift (or perhaps as a mean trick) had sides 3D printed for this car.

It was still something of a challenge to build. In addition to the resin sides, it uses Branchline ends and roof, Accurail underframe, Plano roofwalk and brake platform, some DA freight car detail parts and a bunch of bits fabricated from styrene. Painted with Model Master insignia red and my galvanized mix. Decals came from a bunch of sets including Microscale and some Modeler's Choice leftovers.

More work w/ my buddy Hunter

Sunday I did a model shoot for two models from the Riverside area. We shot at my studio and at a few outdoor locations around Palm Desert. I think it went pretty well, we got lots of great photos and had a fun time doing it. These guys were a couple of characters, lots of fun to work with.

All the best on your hero's journey!

I met Jackson when we were both exhibiting at the Seattle Erotic Art Festival. He asked if I'd mind modeling for some photographs, so we did an impromptu photoshoot.

He's not on Flickr Yes he is: jacksonphotografix

M3 White Scout Car, Dirty DAK Panzer IV, German Dingo, Dirty DAK SdKfz 251/7 Combat Engineer, Universal Carrier.

Still short a few tiles and specialty parts. Should be in Monday or Tuesday. Wheels for Pzr IV STILL have not come in so I improvised for now. Mr.Jens' 251 scale is a little bit bigger than the size I build at, but we still like it. New Pzr III and Stuey half built! Just ran out of working time. :)

Credit to PA for the Pzr IV and the UC. AND FOR THE TAN U-CLIPS! :)

Credit to Dede Winters for the original M3. His is bigger than mine, but I got the idea from him.

Credit to Mr. Jens for the original SdKfz 251.

Credit to Panzerbricks for the idea for the 251/7's bridge rails.

In this photo I have the lamp to the left of the model, where the model is just over the border where light transitions to shadow.

This gives the light the function of profile light, to emphasize the profile of her body and texture of the clothing and by turning her head towards the light, ensures that you see Rembrandts lighting in the face.

The red of the background and the dark blue hues of her dress ensure that the light parts form a contrast in the photo.
