Participants take practice laps to get a feel for the course, Thursday, Sept 9, 2010, at the annual Clock-tower Boat Race held on Lake George in Hobart, IN. The boats travel at 60 to 90 mph around buoys set up on the lake. Participants come from across the nation and from as far away as Canada, Europe and Bermuda. The best we could do with the original design was get an outline. We found out later that the design software which drives the engraver needed an "upgrade package" in order to be able to fill in the outlines. Hmm.

The Irvine Model Club's first display in the Linthouse Building at the Scottish Maritime Museum in Irvine, sometime in the late 1990s. The model nearest the camera is a Veron "Marlin" . Kit purchased in 1953 for75 shiilings[£3 75p], completed mid 1980s and still sailing now.
