This was one of the many model boats in the Conservatory Water in Central Park the day I was there. Sailboats are the most popular sort of model boats in that pond.
I don't know which to pick. I think this one....but my hand is ghostly. I guess it could be like a little ghost boy playing with his old toy boat... I just really like how sharp the sails of the boat are.

Two model sailboats whisk across the water at the Model Boat Basin in Central Park, New York city.
Initial build of a 1/40 scale wooden Perkasa class fast patrol craft, almost 3 foot long, the keel, frames and chines secured along with the deck. Four vessels were built Vosper for the Royal Malaysian Navy and delivered in 1967.
These 45cm models are sold as static display items but the bold Gooders took up the challenge and she is now fully operational and under radio control.

Quite a clever idea: to recover his radio-controlled boat, the owner used a line on a fishing rod, with a tennis ball as ballast. Note the mid-air tennis ball, on the end of the line.
While running, the water birds kept a respectful distance.
This model was built by my grandfather, Dr. A.J. May of Hayling Island. He built this in 1937 - totally scratch built. It is about 4 foot long, lights up internally and still has the original light bulbs he fitted back then. It was left to me when he passed away in 1968 and has been my pride and joy ever since.

Hubertus hosts a model boat club, which meet and sail on the club lake each Sunday from 10am.
