The Richmond Maritime Festival celebrates all things waterfront at the Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site. We're performing a test run here of the new design. So far so good!

As you can see the boat is really starting to take shape now that the hull is painted.

 

And for those who seem perplexed because these are not the colours of the "Drumbeat of Devon", I am actually making it an "RCMP" police boat painted similar to the one you see in the inset on the left. This kit, made by Model Slipway, was the best suited for this purpose.

I found it interesting you could outfit the boat with a radio controller, even though one wasn't included. This had to be preferable to setting your brand-new model in the water and just letting it go. What if it stranded itself in the middle of your pond or lake?
