Hangin' out with in EC SD CA USA. Behind my head is a Secret Affair patch I made. It was then signed by Ian Page, Dave Cairns and the boys when we caught them in concert in Los Angeles area. It was a nervous night because we were chased by a mod hater with an axe and pick-up truck. SA opened for Johnny or Edgar Winter that night. SA kicked it with great energy and a salute to the US glory boys. I don't remember the concert venue. Up on the wall was the Mod article from Rolling Stone.
From the summer of 2003. This is an old white iBook. I used alcohol to remove the white paint. Stickers were applied beforehand.

I was super excited to see the new Mod Ginger from David with a very Mia-esque short crop hairsteyle! I did enter the lottery for Chain Reaction Ginger Gilroy but didn't manage to win her. Not to worry - after all the prototype lives here with me already! LOL! I actually took a further step with Mia's hair before this photoshoot by removing about 35-50% of the plugs across her head. I didn't mess too much with the hair part and of course didn't touch the hairline but I did take out quite a lot of bulk over the crown and around the sides. Unfortunately I used the wrong hair product to set her hair so it still isn't laying as flat as it could but I think it is vastly improved nonetheless. Next time I set her hair I'll make sure to use gel spray...
Isn't Ginger just perfect with a Mod styling? It definitely seems to be her vibe - her slightly mournful look reminds me a lot of photos of Twiggy and Mia Farrow from the sixties (hence the name "Mia"). I'm still waiting for my short-haired Twiggy Poppy though... maybe David will give us a Twiggy Poppy as the next Club doll with the Tears Go By Screening! Wouldn't that be simply marvellous?!

You can do this yourself...
All you need is:
Headlight
1/16" Drill Bit
Hand Drill
1/16" Blue or Green Fluorescent Rod (available at hobby shops)
Hobby Knife
Emery Board
Clear Blue or Green Hobby Paint
Carefully drill a 1/16" hole in the shroud of the light in front of the lens.
Using the hobby knife, cut the fluorescent rod at a sharp angle (resembling a hypodermic needle).
Press the rod into the hole, from the top of the light until it extends past the end of the cut (if it's too loose, a drop of CA glue can set it into place).
Cut the rod about 3/16" above the top of the light. Clean up the cut with the emery board, then firmly press the rod flush with the top of the light using a hard flat surface. lastly, trim off the extra from the inside of the shroud. If you like, a drop of clear blue or green hobby paint can improve the color of the light.
With a simple glance, you can now tell if the light is on, or off, flashing or steady, even if you can't see the beam due to dark/wet conditions.

A cavallo tra il 2010 ed il 2011 un nome più di tutti è emerso tra gli appassionati di pop elettronico, un nome che fa capo ad un duo con base a Manchester. Si tratta degli inglesi Hurts che, con la pubblicazione del loro debutto intitolato Happiness, hanno reso felici tutti gli appassionati di un particolare momento della musica anni ’80 che faceva capo a band come Human League, New Order, Depeche Mode, Ultravox. Con un solo disco, infatti, gli Hurts hanno riscoperto e rivitalizzato quei suoni rendendoli nuovamente attuali attraverso la scrittura di una vera e propria opera pop eccelsa. Con Happiness gli Hurts hanno infatti conquistato sia i neofiti dell’elettro-pop sia chi gli anni Ottanta li ha vissuti in prima persona, grazie a singoli come Better Than Love, Wonderful Life, Stay e Sunday, decretando la loro opera prima come uno degli album di maggiore successo del 2010/2011.
