Vinh Long (Vietnam) – Tranquillement installé en face à siroter un café glacé, j’observe les pauvres gars qui apportent et déchargent de lourds sacs contenant ce qui me semble être du riz. Ils arrivent en mobylette transportant parfois plus d’une dizaine de sacs. Ensuite, sans que les femmes qui visiblement dirigent le magasin ne leur accordent la moindre attention, ils les entassent au fond du hangar et repartent dégoulinant de sueur. Durant les 20 minutes pendant lesquelles j’ai assisté à ces scènes, les manutentionnaires-livreurs ont fait au moins quatre voyages, chacun.
Techniquement, j’ai réglé mon objectif pour avoir une netteté suffisante sur tout le champ de l’image. Aussi, j’ai du mal à m’expliquer le « mouvement » dans les mains du manutentionnaire, alors que ma vitesse était calée sur le 1/125.
En principe, à cette vitesse, des mains, même agitées, sont figées. Si j’ai du mal à trouver une explication logique, ce mouvement, s’il n’était pas intentionnel, ne me gêne pas particulièrement. Mais il m'interroge.
It's heavy !
Vinh Long (Vietnam) – Relaxedly seated across the street, sipping an iced coffee, I watch the poor guys bringing in and unloading heavy bags containing what I think is rice. They arrive on mopeds, sometimes carrying more than ten bags. Then, without the women who obviously run the store paying them the slightest attention, they pile them into the back of the shed and leave dripping with sweat. During the 20 minutes I witnessed these scenes, the delivery handlers made at least four trips each.
Technically, I adjusted my lens to have sufficient sharpness across the entire image field. I struggle to explain the "movement" in the handler's hands, even though my shutter speed was set to 1/125. Normally, at that speed, hands, even if they're moving, are frozen. Although I struggle to find a logical explanation, this movement, even if it was not intentional, does not particularly bother me.

Het is een prachtige voorjaarsdag die er toe uitnodigt om erop uit te trekken. Dat kan per bromfiets of automobiel. Maar ook de lokaalspoortrein biedt een mogelijkheid. Wismar-bus T1 is zelfs van bagagerekken voorzien. Daarop kunnen niet alleen melkbussen of kratten geplaats worden maar ook de meename van het rijwiel is een optie. De sleufvormige steunen op de horizontale profielbalk bieden de fiets extra steun tijdens de holperige rit.
Hoewel er een bagagekaartje gekocht moet worden, kan er een keuze gemaakt worden om met de fiets bij tegenwind van de trein gebruik te maken. Tijdens de terugreis kan er met de wind in de rug en eventueel een vers getapt biertje achter de kiezen voldaan en zonder al te veel inspanning heimwaarts gekeerd worden.

Kratie (Cambodge)- Je cherchais des rizières pour faire quelques photos d’illustration. Manque de chance, en cette fin de journée il n’y avait personne dans les champs. Comme la lumière était intéressante, je me suis résigné à faire quelques photos de la campagne. Au loin j’ai vu cette petite famille arriver. J’ai eu largement le temps de me préparer pour les photographier. Une photo qui à mon sens à plus d'intérêt qu'une rizière sans activité.
Family transportation
Kratie (Cambodia) - I was looking the rice fields to take some pictures of illustration. Bad luck, in this end of the day there was nobody in the fields. As the light was interesting, I resigned myself to take some pictures of the campaign. In the distance I saw this little family arriving. I had plenty of time to prepare to photograph them. A photo which in my opinion has more interest than a rice field without activity.
