This is the calmest scene I could photograph in Hanoi. Actually. It's such a hustle and bustle city filled with scooters, noise, and people, that to find an empty street with nothing but a solitary salesman is a rarity.
Imagine the effort he's got to go through just to turn around and try sell you a hat. And then you say, "Oh, sorry you don't have my size". I'd probably pay him just for the effort of dodging 50 scooters.
This was my first real attempt and using dodging and burning on my photos instead of overlays and curves (mainly). I might've gone a bit beyond what I needed too, but I think this looks pretty cool.

This is actually a Mobility scooter made over to look like a Vespa, for a disabled man who wanted to join a scooter club, like his carer. Sunday saw his 'Ride Out', when he got to ride it along Lincoln Road, with over 200 scooters following behind.
Another crew has just arrived, with just the HMEE they need for the job, so it should only be another month or so and this whole project will be all wrapped up.

In the midst of a heavy snowstorm, I came upon this elderly lady, walking back from the grocery store. She and I shuffled five blocks through the slush, her silently gripping my arm for balance on the slippery, uneven pavement. This encounter made me thankful for my mobility, and proud of those who push through the heavy Canadian winters, regardless of the physical limitations of age.

A rare sight in most of the metro area now, 64136 is one of a few remaining Metro Mobility cutaways in the old livery scheme. It will likely be replaced this summer or next. Metro Mobility is the federally mandated fixed-route complementary door-to-door transit service for persons who are unable to use the regular fixed-route transit system due to physical and/or mental disabilities.
