"While Mum was in hospital or at the convalescent home, Dad couldn't take me out either, because of his mobility problems.
"But, today my new Auntie Fabienne came and took me out. She looked after Mum and the others at weekends (not all of them) at Guingamp, but lives in Perros.
"She can't take me out every day so Mum and Dad are going to put some publicity up to see if someone can help us.
"When I got home, I asked to go into the garden and Izzy came too, her lead got stuck around the parasol stand and she was trying to tell me, Mum and Dad that she needed help!!"

Op blokafstand achter het fraaie transport van Railadventure, zat de volgende klapper. ZSSK ofwel Železničná spoločnosť Cargo Slovakia was met een sleep gesloten wagons onderweg in Noordelijke richting. Over het algemeen is de Slovaakse maatschappij alleen actief met auto en keteltreinen. Tijdens de melding vanuit het Zuiden ontstonden er dus enige vraagtekens.
Toch kon de 383 204 gefotografeerd worden met een lange sleep 'H-wagen'. In een heerlijke ochtendzon en met de bewolking nog in het dal zien we het geheel langs Wernfeld komen.

Door werkzaamheden werden treinen die normaal via Bad Bentheim Nederland verlieten, omgeleid via grensovergang Emmerich. Hierdoor kon (zelfs in de zon), de Captrain 193 782 gefotografeerd worden in Praest met een lege autotrein.
This is the shot I wanted to make in Slovakia. It all was perfect, until... As happens so often, the sun disappeared behind the clouds right when the train is there. It was a matter of seconds before it would be back, but of course the train wouldn't wait. 6 disappointed photographers... however, I am glad I made the photo. I'll have to return another time to get it better!

Vanuit Wuppertal werd via een omweg terug naar Düsseldorf gereden om aldaar de trein naar Arnhem weer te pakken. Op dit alles behalve fotogenieke station werd wel de Flixtrain even opgewacht. Met de 193 862 op kop zien we het geheel klaarstaan voor vertrek naar Dresden.
Flixtrain schijnt paden aan te hebben gevraagd bij Prorail om vanuit Zevenaar via Arnhem en Amsterdam naar Rotterdam te rijden. Ik ben benieuwd of het Nederlandse spoor wat concurrentie krijgt. Weinig capaciteit, daar zou het wel weer op neerkomen..

Mit dem KLV-Zug KT 42129 von Köln Eifeltor nach Verona Q.E. waren am 16. November 2024 die 193 354 und 338 unterwegs, als ich sie bei Brannenburg im Inntal fotografieren konnte. Die zweite Lok trägt die Aufschrift #DBCargofährt, die sie während des Corona Lockdowns erhalten hat. Während dieser Zeit haben die Bahn und ihre Mitarbeiter einen wichtigen Anteil daran gehabt, die Versorgung der Bevölkerung sicher zu stellen.
On 16 November 2024, 193 354 and 338 were on their way with intermodal train KT 42129 from Cologne Eifeltor to Verona Q.E. when I was able to photograph them near Brannenburg in the Inn Valley. The second locomotive is labelled #DBCargofährt, which it received during the coronavirus lockdown. During this time, the railway and its employees played an important role in ensuring supplies to the population.
The Korail Class 8200, based on the Siemens EuroSprinter ES 64 F platform and built by Hyundai Rotem between 2002 and 2008, is a Bo′Bo′ electric locomotive. It delivers 5 200 kW of power and runs at a maximum service speed of 150 km/h (theoretically capable of 220 km/h if re-geared).
Introduced to replace the older EL 8100 units, it hauls medium-distance passenger services—especially third-tier Mugunghwa-ho trains—on fully electrified routes such as Gyeongbu, Honam, Jungang, Taebaek and Yeongdong. Equipped with Head-End Power (HEP), each unit can feed up to 12 passenger cars without extra generators.
For regional and intercity duties, it uses four 1 300 kW traction motors, electronically controlled air and regenerative brakes, and on-board ATS/ATP safety systems. When a train formation exceeds five cars, a dedicated dynamo car is sometimes coupled to guarantee auxiliary power for lighting, HVAC and other systems. Across its production run of 83 units (8201–8283), the Class 8200 remains a workhorse on Korea’s electrified mainlines, underpinning the “slow-train” Mugunghwa-ho service.

Vandaag moest ik in Amersfoort zijn voor een toetsing van school en een andere afspraak. Hier tussenin zat even tijd dus werd de camera voor de zekerheid meegenomen.
Toen ik klaar was op school las ik een melding van +/- 15 minuten daarvoor, dat de Pontrein gezien was bij Apeldoorn met de 193 342. Een beetje doorstappen leverde de volgende foto op.

Niemieckie jednostki high speed podczas samodzielnej jazdy na magistrali E20. Zestaw dwóch pojazdów ICE3neo (BR408) wracał dziś z zakończonych testów dynamicznych prowadzonych na Centralnej Magistrali Kolejowej w ostatnich tygodniach.
Pociąg PXJ 276000/1 relacji Idzikowice - Rzepin w promieniach popołudniowego słońca jedzie szlakiem Poznań Górczyn - Palędzie po wielu niepewnych chwilach czy w ogóle za dnia uda się go z sukcesem przeprowadzić po polskich szlakach.
Na uwagę zasługuje fakt, że powrót odbył się w stanie czynnym, a nie jak w przypadku jazd poprzednich na przy-sprzęgu lokomotywy Gama 111Ed przewoźnika LTG Cargo.
Choć sam mam już wiele zdjęć jednostek ICE wykonanych w Niemczech, taki zestaw na swojej ziemi, w swoim mieście smakuje wyśmienicie i z niecierpliwością czekam na rozpoczęcie regularnych kursów, które zapowiadane są dopiero na rok 2030r.
DB zamówiło w Siemens Mobility łącznie 90 jednostek ICE 3neo, z czego 29 zostało już dostarczonych. Pierwszy EZT tej serii wszedł do eksploatacji w listopadzie 2022 roku. W czerwcu 2024 roku ICE 3neo zastąpił starsze pociągi ICE na trasach transgranicznych z Frankfurtu do Amsterdamu i Brukseli. Siemens Mobility wyposaży do 32 pociągów ICE 3neo w odpowiednie komponenty, aby zapewnić kompatybilność z technologią sygnalizacji i trasami w Polsce i Francji.

German high-speed EMUs traveling independently on the E20 main line. A set of two ICE3neo (BR408) trains returned today from dynamic tests which took place on the Central Railway Line recent weeks.
Train no. 276000/1 from Idzikowice to Rzepin was photographed on the Poznań Górczyn - Palędzie route in the afternoon sun, after many uncertain moments as to whether it would be possible to successfully run it on Polish routes during the day.
It is worth noting that the return journey took place in active ride, unlike previous journeys, which were carried out with a Gama 111Ed locomotive from LTG Cargo.
Although I already have many photos of ICE units taken in Germany, seeing such a set on my own soil, in my own city, is a real treat, and I am eagerly awaiting the start of regular services, which are not scheduled to begin until 2030.
DB has ordered a total of 90 ICE 3neo units from Siemens Mobility, 29 of which have already been delivered. The first EMU of this series entered service in November 2022. In June 2024, the ICE 3neo replaced older trains on cross-border routes from Frankfurt (Main) to Amsterdam and Brussels. Siemens Mobility will equip up to 32 ICE 3neo EMUs with the appropriate components to ensure compatibility with signaling technology and routes in Poland and France.

The third component of positive freedom in Timothy Snyder's new book "On Freedom" is Mobility. Originally in America, this was perhaps about moving to the frontier, as the country expanded, and having the ability to build one's own life in new places. After the frontier closed, mobility in America became more about social mobility, the ability to move up the socioeconomic ladder and join the middle class. Increasing wealth inequality leads to less ability to do so; the ability to be mobile is a critical part of positive freedom.
My third entry for Polaroid Week represents Mobility with the addition of a motion blur filter from the Polaroid Spectra family of cameras, part of the Special Effects Filters package. I placed this over the lens of my Mint SLR-670X with I-Type support as I shot a portrait using Polaroid Retinex film.
