1 year, 12 months, 365 days, 8760 hours, 525600 minutes, 31536000 seconds, every day, every night, every time, I always miss you.
I can't even begin to imagine the agony of the family not knowing where their beloved has disappeared to.
Amazing expression shown by this lovely creature. As if longing to meet someone faraway. Found her as I took a stroll at Teluk Cempedak Beach in Pahang, Malaysia today when I met this amazing creature. Wild yet so welcoming to people. Sharp, piercing gaze and filled with indescribable emotions.

several pounds (it's incredibly heavy!) of missing link between abacuses, pens and paper, and the microprocessor.
This thing has 3 registers, all of different widths, and a very limited ALU. It is clocked manually (using the crank) and only has 2 data processing instructions (+/-). All the control signals are manual too.

"Missing Link" Cigar Box - Inner Label
This old cigar box inner label has a mica mirror in the center. When the box is opened, you see your own reflection in the mirror.
I looked for any information that might be available on this brand of cigar and it's box, but was unable to find anything but a picture and the fact that it was made around 1880.
To bad we couldn't buy them today and send them by the truckload to Washington D.C.!

SO sorry to report... Darko has gone missing :-( It's been 3 days now that she's missing. I'm hoping she was picked up by someone who's planning on giving her a happy indoor home but saw our posters and plans to call and return her home...
*fingers crossed*
He really misses his kitty!

Victoria, my 16 year old, wonderful daughter, is missing.
A PDF poster is available here - if you are in the Houston area, please redistribute, share and post in any places where teens might hang out such as coffee shops or knowing this teen, libraries as well. Many thanks for all your support.
She was last seen on Saturday Night, January 26, 2007, in Midtown Houston, when she left a shelter where she had been staying.
Please pray for her safety, her health and her return.
Thanks,
James

This is a replacement marker called "Reiter" ("rider" or "tab") in German indicating a missing book in the vaults of the Frankfurt am Main archive of the German National Library. It concerns registered book no. 239 of the year 1947. I think that the upper note indicates that this was recorded as the 8th discovered absence in the year 2007, or maybe the 7th discovered absence in the year 2008.

Original file posted in full resolution as taken, straight out of the camera (SOOC), no post-processing whatsoever.
This is also an excellent example of the great performance of the original Canon lens EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L USM, even under low and unfavorable lighting conditions.

The meaning of the items on this special Missing Man Table.
The table is round -- to show our everlasting concern for our missing men.
The tablecloth is white -- symbolizing the purity of their motives when answering the call to duty.
The single red rose, displayed in a vase, reminds us of the life of each of the missing, and their loved ones, and friends of these Americans who keep the faith, awaiting answers.
The vase is tied with a red ribbon, symbol of our continued determination to account for our missing.
The Solitary Candle -- represents "The upward reach of their unconquerable spirit".
A slice of lemon on the bread plate is to remind us of the bitter fate of those captured and missing in a foreign land.
A pinch of salt symbolizes the tears endured by those missing and their families who seek answers.
The Bible represents the strength gained through faith to sustain those lost from our country, founded as "One Nation Under God".
The chairs are empty -- they are missing.
The glass is inverted -- to symbolize their inability to share this evening's [morning's/day's] toast.

Yellow Submarine is a pretty amazing film.
[after Ringo ejects himself from the submarine]
Paul: Poor Ringo.
George: Poor lad.
Paul: Never did no harm to no one.
John: Hey, lads, now that Ringo's gone, what do we do?
Old Fred: Learn to sing trios.
Paul: Naw, let's save the poor devil.
Greek Cypriot missing persons exhibition, Nicosia, Cyprus (2006). The images in the black frames show Greek Cypriots who were captured by the Turkish army following its invasion of the island in 1974. Those with faces circled were never seen alive again by their families. The faces numbered 2, 3 and 4 are those of Greek Cypriots who surrendered to Turkish forces. Following DNA testing of remains found by the UN-sponsored Committee on Missing Persons in Cyprus in 2009 it was discovered that they were executed immediately after the photo was taken and their bodies thrown down a well.
"Iannis Papayianni, was photographed accepting a cigarette from a Turkish soldier. His funeral will take place in Nicosia on Friday" - BBC online, 11 August 2009.

"According to statistics released by the CMP, there are 1,464 Greek Cypriot and 494 Turkish Cypriot missing persons. So far, 690 sets of remains have been exhumed, from which 248 missing individuals have been identified and returned to their families, comprising of 195 Greek Cypriots and 53 Turkish Cypriot." - Cyprus Mail, 29 August 2010
Let's hope that as many Greek and Turkish Cypriots as possible can discover the fate of their loved ones and have some sort of closure to this tragedy.
I am already missing the lovely colors of Fall. This was taken the same day of the "50 mm" challenge that I mentioned a few days ago.

Our special boy is missing. GT does go outside but generally he sticks pretty close to home. He has not been see since Friday morning. He was wearing a (breakaway) collar with a tag and he is microchipped. We have put ads online, posted flyers and have checked our local pound, but so far nothing.
The other troublesome thing is that our neighbor's cat Scratch has been missing since Thursday.
I can't even begin to express how heartbroken we are. :-(
My photostream has been missing the silly lately. A few of my contacts like to jump in photos. I talked Tillie into trying it with me. We ended up with many, many versions with failed attempts. However, it being me I thought, "If I put a whole lot of fail together does it equal a win??' I tend to think so. At the very least it shows how much fun we had trying this out!
Title reference. I loved that song in High School, and the band came to Little Rock (back before bands came to Little Rock). I was heart broken because I was around 16 and looked 13 and couldn't get into a bar that was 21 and up.
