The last loaded china clay train left Ponts Mill works on 21st April 1992. The branch remained in situ and the site of the works was used to refurbish the CDA wagon fleet. In this photo a rake of stored stock from St.Blazey had been dumped here, presumably to create space at the depot?? From memory it was here for about a month. The vandalised GUV carried the internal user number 061208 originally 93776 and was a stores vehicle at St.Blazey, reported cut up there by Raxstar 09/03.

This is Hinchcliffe Mill just up the road from Holmfirth.A typical little pennine village built around a mill or two.The Austonley meadows are just above the village with the edge of the moors leading up to Black Hill just beyond. It sums up this part of the world very nicely.

There was a watermill on this site before 1086 as it is recorded in the Domesday Book. The current mill building dates from 1780.
By the beginning of the 20th century, the river flow was no longer strong enough to operate the mill and an engine was used. Following the mill's restoration in the 1990s, a restored Crossley diesel engine powers the mill and a bakery has been opened in an adjacent barn.
The mill has appeared on TV progammes such as 'Paul Hollywood's Bread', 'Easter Feast' with Mary Berry and 'The One Show' with Jay Rayner.
Mill Gill is a river that flows of White Beacon Haggs through the village of Askrigg in the Yorkshire Dales.
There are numerous waterfalls along it's route, this one is un-named, but it's where the path crosses the river below Whitfield Force (which is unfortunately unaccessable)
The Standard mill, which processed ore from the Standard Mine. The mine was originally named the Bunker Hill mine when it was first registered in 1861. Most of the inner workings are still in tact.
In its heyday, the mill processed more than $14 million worth of gold and silver over 25 years.

Mill Lake has something to offer everyone. You'll find everything from quite picnic areas to an impressive spray park and play grounds for children. Being one of the most popular parks for walkers, joggers and fisherman.
Mill Lake is a great location if you want to get out and stroll around a beautiful lakeside setting. Enjoy a few laps around the two Kilometer path which circles the lake while viewing the variety of birds which make this area their home. Relax in one of the lakeside benches or enjoy an incredible view of Mt Baker from the floating boardwalk.

The streams are really moving after the almost non stop rain we've been having lately.

In 1874 Charles T. Hayden established the Hayden Flour Mills at the base of “A” mountain in Tempe. The mill depended on thousands of bushels of Pima and Maricopa Indian corn and wheat for its success. However, by the 1890’s, within forty years of the first settlements, the local Indian food system collapsed. For a while, Hayden partnered with farmers in Lehi, but eventually the mill sourced grain brought in by rail from out of state. By today’s standards, the mill started out as environmentally “green.” Four French stone bhur mills were powered by water from the free flowing Salt River. (It wasn’t until the 1920’s that the mill converted to electricity.) Over time, the stone mills were replaced with a high-capacity industrial rolling milling process. With consolidation in the milling industry, Hayden Flour Mills ceased operations in 1998 after 125 years of production. In 1873, there were 23,000 mills in the United States; by 1998 there were just 201 mills, with four firms accounting for 70% of total industry capacity.

Molen de Bleeke Dood in Zaandijk
The Pale Death is one of the two remaining grist mills in the Zaan. The mill is in Zaandijk the Zaan to the Zaanse Schans. The mill in Zaandijk is also the oldest surviving timber mill in the Netherlands.
The mill was built in 1656 and until 1931 on wind power in operation. Meantime, the mill in 1922 near the mine have come off in a heavy fire. In 1931 the sails were removed and further ground on the engine. A few years later, also the tail disappeared and the work setting. In 1955, however, was under new ownership, the Association Zaansche Mill restored the mill and wind back into service. After a restoration in 2000, the mill is fully operational again and ready every Friday that below-ground flour is sold in stores. The miller and millwright also lives in the mill in the home who are partly in and partly in a mill is under construction.

The stone house that sits at the site of the reconstructed Washington Mill in Perryopolis, PA. I don't believe this is part of the park where the mill was recently rebuilt using federal funds.
