This one is from my shoot with T Mills and Yultron a while back, but I said I would shoot this weekend and that didn't happen, I went camping with the fam somewhere near San Diego and there was tonnnns of places to shoot, but I didn't want to ask everyone if I could shoot and make them just stand around.. But I figured I would post something anyway. I actually working on this for a while in post mainly on the tattoo on his neck, lots and lots of dodging/burning. ALSO I've been thinking of uploading more pictures from little things like fun shots from outings and whatnot and was wondering if anyone would be interested in that kind of stuff??

We went out to the city tonight to eat after my sister's graduation. It was one of my first chances to really get to use the Rokinon 85/1.4 for personal use. I love the bokeh on this lens! It has nice rendering, and it is really quite sharp wide open.

It's been a while since I have uploaded (about a month). It's because my computer broke. After about three weeks I purchased the Dell Latitude E6230. It's pretty awesome, and so much faster than my old computer. I stitched together 10 photos in 50 seconds; awesome!

Hope you guys have a great weekend! I'm out of school now, so photos should be more regular.

Built in 1873 this mill was used as a cotton gin, then a woodworking shop. Today it is use as a grist mill for cornmeal and grits. The waterwheel is 32 feet in size and the sound it make while turning is almost like a low thunder.

Union Mill Complex, better known as the Chocolate Factory, next to the Kayaderosseras Creek in Ballston Spa, New York. In the late 20th century this old mill, built in 1879, was restored and converted into commercial and office space.

This old mill is located in a residential area just north of the city I live in. The early morning sunlight provided rather dramatic lighting against the weathered wood and shingles.

Built 1907 by the Hartford Mill (Oldham)Co Ltd. Extended 1920 and 1924. Closed 1959 and used by Littlewoods as a mail order warehouse until 1992.

Architect was F W Dixon, there were 120,000 spindles and power was provided by a very impressive 1500 hp Urmson & Thompson engine.

After years of neglect Oldham Council have managed to get it de-listed by English Heritage and the demolition team moved in in less that a week. Another bit of local history lost for ever.

The domestic finishing mill stands in a prominent and picturesque location in the centre of Paisley and is a proud reminder of the town's industrial heritage. It was part of a larger complex known collectively as the 'Anchor Mills'. The mill was built in 1886, and is of red brick with a sandstone balustrade. It occupies an area of 36,000 square feet.

Internally, the mill has a central well topped with an unusual glass lantern light. This allowed light in, and also provided space for the drive belts from the engine on the ground floor to reach the machines on the upper floors. The mill was one of the earliest buildings in Paisley to have electric light.

The Anchor Mills complex employed many hundreds of local people. When the finishing mill was built the complex filled 9 acres. By 1914 it covered 28 acres and by 1952 it had spread to 51 acres. Work in the domestic finishing mill finished in the 1980s, and the mill lay empty and neglected for twenty years until a regeneration project saved this landmark building. It now contains businesses and private apartments.

LYTHAM MILL,

LYTHAM St ANNES, LANCASHIRE.

Lytham Mill was built in 1805 and was designed to grind wheat and oats.

On 2nd January 1919 high winds spun the sails out of control despite the brake applied, sparks ignited the woodwork and fire quickly ravaged the mill causing the mill to be burnt out.

2 years later squire John T Clifton donated the gutted building to the town, the shell was restored given a new cap and mock sails.

The plinth surrounding the mill was added later for safety reasons.

In 1951 the mill was designated a grade 2 listed building, and was finally restored fully in 1989 by the Fylde Borough Council and opened to the public.

Next to the Mill is the old Lytham lifeboat house. Lytham lifeboat is synonymous with the "Mexico Disaster" on 9-12-1886 in heavy seas 3 lifeboats (1 from here 2 from other areas) rescued all 12 of the crew from the 400 ton German barque "Mexico" which had ran aground on the sand banks around the Ribble estuary near Southport.

Couple more practice shots with Sigma 10-20mm. Ultra wide takes some getting used to!!!

Just has to be a vertical, I really should get one off those Pen half frames that takes verticals when the camera is held "normally". This one a bit a bit of a struggle as it was over developed so needed some tweaking and still not over happy, next roll again perhaps.

Architecturally I like the stepped effect going upwards.

The oldest part of this mill was built in 1826. It was built for Samuel Greg & Co (of Styal), who bought an adjoining sailcloth mill (now demolished) in 1825. In 1832 a 12 horsepower Boulton and Watt engine was brought over from Greg's original mill at Styal in Cheshire. In 1861 the mill was bought by Storey Brothers, who probably added the fireproofing. It closed in 1982, the adjoining weaving sheds were demolished in 1986 and the main mill building was converted to office use in 1989-90. It became the headquarters of sportswear manufacturers Reebok UK Ltd in August 1990 before being taken over by the NHS in 2008.

Grace's Guide says: Storey Brothers and Co, Moor Lane Mills; 15,496 spindles, 5'/40' weft; 864 looms, domestics, twills, &c.; and calico printers and makers of imitation leathers, table covers, tectorium, &c., at White Cross Mills. Telegrams, " Storey, Lancaster." Telephone No., 20.

A watermill probably stood on the site of Lode Mill at the time of the Domesday survey in 1086. The Mill which stands today is likely to have been built in the eighteenth century.

In 1793 the mill was described in a sale notice as 'Anglesea Watermill with dwelling house, yard, garden, barn, stables and outhouse and 3 acres of pasture adjoining'. Old photographs show the house next to the mill. The house was taken down in the renovation of the 1930s.

In about 1900 the mill was converted from corn grinding to cement grinding. The cement was generally made by firing a mixture of clay and lime or natural chalk at about 400°C and grinding the resulting clinker into a powder.

An engine may have been installed at this time, as inside the mill today there are some shafts, gears and a chain drive that are unusual in a watermill.

The mill was owned by the Bottisham Lode Cement and Brick Company. Bottisham Lode is the stretch of water below the mill, one of a number of lodes that were used as a transport link to the River Cam. The water above the mill is called Quy Water

Fallgate Mill at Ashover is an ancient corn mill, dated 1781 but incorporating earlier structures, that continued in use until the 1950s, latterly used for crushing fluorspar. It is listed Grade II and has recently been converted to a house although it still incorporates the gearing and stones. John M Else was the miller in 1891.

The building seen at the rear was a power station built by the Clay Cross Company in the 1920s to provide electricity to the nearby limestone quarries.

First real Pictures from my new X-T3 :)

The Mill is located at milepost 176.2 of Blue Ridge Parkway in Floyd County, Virginia. It is a tourist attraction mainly for the picturesque views of the mill itself, and I totally confirm that. The mill was build in 1905 and was first used as a blacksmith before it was used as a sawmill and a gristmill. Hit 'L' to view large on black
