Here the flagpole is 100 meters high and the flag is the size of a basketball court. It is midsummer in the northern hemisphere, the day is long and the night is short. It has been celebrated here since time immemorial.

A nice picture of the wife taken on midsummer eve when we were out on our boat. Our little strange city decided to move the celebration a day based on the weather forecast. Nice of them. We had a wonderful evening out on the boat.
This picture from the Ektar 100 roll gave me some comfort after a somewhat humiliating and depressive analog week. I was trying to get acceptable focus from my 6x9 folders - fail... But I hoped and trusted I would get good pictures from my Nikon FT3. I got a few keepers but also experienced that my exposure was all over the place, my manual focus abilities were not that good (I will have to use my F100 more with autofocus)

In Sweden we celebrate Midsummer today. It's summer solstice and the sun is going down at 10 o'clock pm. it´s the biggest holiday after Christmas here. Typical food is herring, salmon, meatballs. And then we drink...

It is really hot these days. However, the visibility was 50km this afternoon. It is really rare in midsummer in Taiwan without typhoon coming. I tried to fight with high temperature and went shooting to get the great sunset.

Very frustrated at the lack of opportunities for sunrises at the moment so I thought I'd share one from the earliest I've ever dragged myself out of bed for a photograph. I think I got up at around 3:30am for this shot. (yes I know the 3rd of July wasn't quite midsummer but it's close enough for me) Best on black (Press L). Press F to favorite and C to comment.
