久しぶりに新国立美術館へ行ってみました。
広角レンズを持っていたので真夏の真昼を涼しく撮影することが出来ました。
I went to the New National Art Museum for the first time in a while.
I had a wide-angle lens, so I was able to shoot cool midsummer midday.
Sometimes it feels good to look back on the summer. This sunset panorama was taken last summer Midsummer's Eve. That night sunset colors and beautiful clouds occurred in the right position.

Beautiful fog began to appear around midnight. Usually I don't have my tripod with me when celebrating the Midsummer day, but luckily this time I brought it with me.
I got on top of my fathers small tractor to elevate myself to get this photo. And I'm quite happy with the result. :)

today is the longest day of the year. i tend to be sad about that fact. days are getting shorter again from now on.
but June never feels like the peek of summer, right? there are vacations and beautifull days ahead of us.

A little known fact (found out only when we tried this) is that at Midsummer, the sun sets directly behind the Buachaille if you're standing on the top of Sròn na Crèise. No doubt that will get as busy as Bèinn A' Chrùlaiste now that nugget is out!
This midsummer seascape was taken just after sunset during the golden hour in the Uusikaupunki archipelago, Finland. On the day of the photo, the day was the longest of the year, with daylight hours reaching 19 h 12 min. Despite this, it feels as if summer hasn't even started yet. The beginning of summer has been unusually chilly here, with a lot of rain. Hopefully, things will change as we head towards the dark evenings (A7R7678-1e).

Midsummer bonfire has a long tradition in Scandinavia, where it is nowadays celebrated as the longest / brightest day. The fire this year was 25 meters high, built of wooden boxes and transportpallets. A few years ago, the same young builders achieved the world record with a bonfire 41.5 meters high.

Here the flagpole is 100 meters high and the flag is the size of a basketball court. It is midsummer in the northern hemisphere, the day is long and the night is short. It has been celebrated here since time immemorial.
