Chuckwallas are large lizards found primarily in arid regions of the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. Some are found on coastal islands. There are five species of chuckwallas, all within the genus Sauromalus; they are part of the iguanid family, Iguanidae.

Chuckwallas are a stocky wide-bodied lizard with a flattened midsection and prominent belly. Their tails are thick, tapering to a blunt tip. Loose folds of skin characterize the neck and sides of the body, which is covered in small, coarsely granular scales. The common chuckwalla (Sauromalus ater) measures 15 3/4 inches.

The genus Sauromalus has a wide distribution in biomes of the Sonoran and Mojave Deserts. The common chuckwalla (Sauromalus ater) is the species with the greatest range, found from southern California east to southern Nevada and Utah, western Arizona and south to Baja California and northwestern Mexico. The peninsular chuckwalla (Sauromalus australis) is found on the eastern portion of the southern half of the Baja California peninsula.

Chuckwallas prefer lava flows and rocky areas. These areas are typically vegetated by creosote bush and other such drought-tolerant scrub. The lizards may be found at elevations of up to 4,500 feet (1,370 m).

Deboxing Designer Jasmine. The clear acrylic cover of the case has been removed, so she is now in the open. She is still attached to the cardboard backing and plastic spacer by wires, rubber bands and plastic tacks. She is also supported by the built-in doll stand.

First look at the Disney Princess Designer Collection Jasmine Doll. She was released in October 2011, and I got her from eBay shortly afterwards, so It's been more than a year and a half since I got this doll. But I have not yet deboxed her, and this the first time I am doing a full photoshoot of her. I will photograph her boxed, during her deboxing, and fully deboxed.

My Designer Jasmine doll is a limited edition doll that was produced and sold exclusively by the Disney Store, and is numbered 5645 of 6000. She is based on the heroine from the Disney animated feature Aladdin (1992). She comes in an acrylic case with a built-in doll stand, with a base that has a golden filigree design, and a golden metallic nameplate. There is also a cardboard cover for the case that I have not photographed here.

She is 11 1/2'' tall, and has the same body as the other Designer Princess dolls, with jointed neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, waist, hips and knees (internal). She has rubber legs and fixed ankles, with feet angled for high heels.

She has jet black, 12'' long hair tied into a floor length pony tail. There are two golden elastic hairties in the upper and middle part of the ponytail, and the lower portion of her hair has loose curls. It is very soft and shiny. There were a few stray hairs, but I left them alone and did not comb it, as I thought her hair was neat enough as it was out of the box. She has light brown skin, and a unique face sculpt that is very pretty and movie accurate. She has large dark brown almond shaped eyes that are glancing towards her right. She has light blue-green eye shadow, and thick black eyebrows. She has rooted eyelashes, that are tapered in length from short to long, then at the ends there are very long curved antenna like lashes. She has a small straight nose, full dark purple lips in with a closed mouth smile. She has very pale red rouge on her cheeks.

Her three piece gown is made of bright blue-green satin and light blue organza. Her bodice is cropped short to reveal her midsection (including her belly button), and consists of light blue organza embedded with golden gems, draped over her upper arms, and gemmed blue-green satin lower and back sections. Her blue-green satin skirt is floor length and is figure hugging, flairing out at the bottom. It is hemmed and there is a light blue polyester lining. There is a very wide overskirt of the double layered light blue satin. I is open in front, but can be wrapped around to completely cover her inner skirt, or can be folded to reveal her inner skirt.

She is wearing light blue-green high heeled shoes, which match the color of her skirt.

Her accessories include earrings, a chain belt with pendant and Aladdin's lamp. The earrings are large golden triangles with gold colored gems. Her belt is made of fine gold chain, with a large round jeweled pendant just below her waist that gathers the strands of the chain together, the remainder of which fall almost to the floor. In her right hand is a golden lamp that is bejeweled with yellow gems. The top of the lamp is removable (it is held in place with rubber bands, which I left in place).

There were no real surprises revealed by deboxing her, although it was nice to see the full extent of her overskirt. I was also glad to take her out of her awkward head pose, which was a common problem among the Designer Princesses. One thing I didn't like was that her top was a little too short, and revealed her waist joint (that enables her to spin her upper body around 360 degrees). Tugging on her top didn't move it enough to hide the joint in the front. As a consequence, her waist joint moved very freely, and her upper body tended to turn whenever she was handled, aided by her long hair. Also her long luxurious hair is very heavy, so tends to pull her backwards slightly when she is posed on the display stand. Designer Rapunzel has a similar problem. Her very wide floor length overskirt and floor length hair make it difficult to rebox her neatly, which is a common problem with the Designer dolls with very wide floor length skirts.

March 24, 2009

The level 7's just got their new floor routines, and I have absolutely fallen in love with Tina's midsection. It's so coooool! So, every time I hear her music I always watch her routine to learn it. I've got most of down, but the final touches definitely need more work. Anyway, this animal jump thingy is probably my favorite part, so I figured why not take a picture of it?

I had an awesome day today..Stayed home from school, read, relaxed, walked. When I was walking in my neighborhood I was just admiring all of God's wonderful creation. God is so good, artistic, creative, and gracious. He gives us these beautiful common graces everyday and yet, people still don't see His saving love through them. Often times, even Christians forsake God and all of His majesty. Lord, let me not be one of those ignorant Christians. I want to display Him with my life, in every thought, deed, and aspect.

The size of this lobster was huge! This photo was taken at Fourth of July at Ala Moana. It was the last food I ate, more like tasted, that day. It was taken apart, with their bare hands, by family and friends like a carcass taken apart by hyenas. One group of women got one of the claw, one guy grab the tail, the other claw was taken, my cousins and I was left with the the midsection. We were laughing so hard, and this was moments before the firework show.

Color scheme/psychological response assignment. Monochromatic color scheme with a "nervous" psychological response. I intentionally placed a "face" with the rectangles with one eye seeming to be wide open, a wide flat mouth, and jumbled midsection of the face. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to use any other tools except the rectangular marquee tool in cs4, that's why it's bland. requirements of the stupid assignment. GRR. what limitations!

This little orca had a little design all around his midsection.

Well, when you change your routine, you sometimes pay the consequences. I cannot stand up straight. This isn't some strange euphemism, I really can not stand up straight.

I decided to change up my workout routine. I switched from swimming to an intense core training. And to fully under what the issue is going to be, you have to understand me and who I am. I believe in giving as much as I can. If you commit to something, you have to throw yourself into it and push how far you can take it.

Now, I can't stand up straight. The core training destroyed my entire midsection. That's not an exaggeration either. I'm in pain. I'm taking this photo from couch and I have no motivation to do anything that causes me to laugh, sneeze, cough, or move. My finger doesn't hurt, so I'll demonstrate how I look if I try to stand.

To everyone out there, don't over do it when it comes to physical activity. Photography; yes, over do it. The gym; stay within your limit. Trust me, the consequences are not fun.

Your pillow should fit your torso for the baby’s head and body to be positioned at the height of your nipple. You have to understand that some pillows are taller and they will fit longer torsos fine. Others are not as tall. For the best pillow, purchase when you are 5-6 months pregnant to find one that will perfectly fit your midsection after birth.

The shape

Nursing pillows are designed in different shapes. The shapes are as follows:

C- shape– This shape of nursing pillows fits almost every body type. It also provides adequate arm support no matter the side the baby is feeding from.

O-shape – These wrap around the whole body. They can be helpful if you need additional support after birth complications or after a C-section.

Crescent shape- They wrap around the side of your body. They might not be fit for small sized women as the sides can fall on the back of the surface you are sitting. However, there are those that can be adjusted to fit several sizes.

Fastening Straps

Fastening straps will enable the nursing pillow to fit closely around your body such that it can’t move. They are helpful because the keep the pillow more safe. You can also use them to bring the baby closer to your body. With these, the nursing process will be less distracting.

Their major undoing is that it is difficult to get them on and off and with the unpredictable times of nursing adjusting may take longer since your baby need the immediate attention. You may also be required to attend to other urgent issues that you will need to stop the nursing process for some time. Pulling the straps off may delay your response.

How easy is it to clean?

You are dealing with a baby who is fond of spitting. This makes nursing pillows prone to getting dirty each and every time. You should therefore get one that is easy to clean. You can get the nursing pillows with removable covers that can then be washed with a machine and dried. You can also opt for those that come with foam inserts. These can hand washed then dried in the sun.

The material of the nursing pillow will determine whether it can easily be washed. Some materials are hard to clean. For instance organic material. Others can be easily hand washed then dried.

The Nursing Location

Even though you might have a baby’s nursery you will often find yourself breastfeeding anywhere else. You need to consider the type of nursing pillow to buy depending on where you will be breastfeeding from, be it the living room or the kitchen floor.

Neoclassical sculptors often drew upon mythology, history, the Bible, and literature for their subject matter. “Cleopatra” exemplifies Story’s penchant for depicting famous—or infamous—personalities from history as they contemplate past deeds or forthcoming actions of cataclysmic significance. Here, Cleopatra (69-30 B.C.), the last Macedonian ruler of Egypt, meditates suicide; the asp curled around her left arm predicts her death from its venomous bite. Story rendered his figures on a monumental scale and paid meticulous attention to archaeological exactitude in their props and costumes. Cleopatra wears the “nemes,” or royal headcloth, topped with the “uraeus,” or cobra headdress.

Shame on Groovy vets / petstore. Drain is an 8 year old rescued street cat who a little while ago, began to live in the newly constructed sewers provided by the city. He also was really sick with very serious symptoms- dehydrated, sunken midsection, facial features pulled taut against his face, and inability to defecate. Looking at him was like looking at the walking dead. His mobility deteriorated and he wobbled when he walked, or was unable to jump well. But he was fiercely determined to live in his cement sewer despite us putting him in the house or the kennel. We brought him to the vet as we could see and smell his death was imminent given the fact he kept hiding in a dark hole in the ground and wasn't eating or moving much with his poor condition. The vet said there was nothing wrong with him (Huh???) and that he was quite young (huh??) . After seeing cats go downhill to this condition before expiring, we told him our concerns and said the nicest thing would be to put him to sleep. The vet said they would charge us for running a battery of tests for determining whether he was eligible for euthanasia (HUH???) which would be an extra $100, on top of the usual cost of $30 plus an emergency fee today of another $20... We thought this ridiculous and said we would not give in to this poor standard they were setting. It was evident (even in the pictures) he was on death's doorstep, but they turned us away, saying we should take him to a shelter. But we are one!! We were exasperated, locked Drain up . However, six days later we moved but Drain ran away, and after several visits back to the old place, we found him -- in his sewer home waiting for the end. He ate a lot, and we brought him home. but next day he died. Those vets could have given him a merciful quick release but instead fished around for more cash. Shame on them, and sorry to poor Drain who lost his express painless ride to heaven. May he rest in peace. Beware Groovy vetstore who do not like helping street cats.

My uncle thought this was actually a bee because of the fuzz on its midsection, but my friend from Minnesota thinks it's a hornet. Would love to get a confirmed ID.

Want better handstands? Here are 3 tips. 1.Start how you want to get to! Lock your arms and tight down that midsection before you even go upside down. 2. Actively push into the floor as you're upside down. Think about pressing through your hands into your toes. 3. If you are against a wall look straight ahead. If you don't have a wall, look at your hands!!

I have been working on getting a warrior skin made, I have been struggling with the skin color and stuff for a human, so as a break to that proccess, I decided to make a neko skin. It still needs some work, there is some color changes and line at the midsection and neck where the textures meet. It will be something I will have to work on.

Eastern ratsnake, also called black rat snake (Pantherophis alleghaniensis). I thought he was yawning, but I read that they do this to reset their jaws. This was a good sized snake. I didn't notice until I looked at the one full length picture that I took, but I think he'd been run over. He was still mobile, but there was blood on the leaves under his midsection. Unfortunately, where I live, many people will drive out of their way to hit snakes, even harmless ones.

Tagbanua hunt only wild pigs in the forest, other animals are 'taboo'. Dogs drive pigs into an ambush where the men kill the pig with spears (wound can be seen on right midsection of pig). Mature wild pigs are very dangerous with their large tusks (barely visible just to right side of man's head) and sometimes injure or kill the dogs

Juvenile male Eastern Pondhawk (Erythemis simplicicollis) - Moccasin Island Tract, St. James River Water Management District,

Viera, Florida

Perhaps the most beautiful time in a male Pondhawk's life is the time it spends changing

from the female like coloring of a freshily hatched male to the adult coloration of a sexually active male.

In this case I captured it just as the midsection of its abdomen was a handsome blue color

(while the sections closest to the thorax still remained green), and the rear 3 segments

remained a handsome black with a nice contrasty white spot on the fourth.

But when you think about it, it's really not all that different from us

where in the teenage years we are about as as good looking as most of us will ever be.

And then after that many people sadly spend the rest of their lives trying to recreate that look.

To which I say fuhgeddaboudit, appreciate the wisdom you've collected over the years,

and learn how to apply it in ways that make life better!
