charismathics exhibits at IBM Pulse 2011, Las Vegas - 27Feb - 2Mar 2011
Get rid of your standard authentication media, your smart card, your USB token, your reader and be free to move around with your inseparable companions only, your smart phone and your laptop. With them alone you can fully benefit of strong authentication mechanisms thanks to iEnigma® by charismathics®. The latest cutting edge technology delivered with a completely new user experience. Stop waiting for the IT administrator to set some weird architecture for you, do it independently yourself with some few clicks from your smart phone.
Organizations have enforced smart card authentication in recent years; however this technology is perceived as cryptic and cumbersome by many. iEnigma by charismathics simplifies strong authentication by using smart phones instead. The software is compatible with most PKI applications on computers and smart phones, maintaining the exact security standards. With iEnigma the user can log into his system, sign emails and documents, encrypt communications just as before, saving on buying other hardware and opening new ranges of use cases.
iEnigma is a mobile PKI security solution, absolutely unique and thus patented. Comparable products are either OTP or password based. Companies did not invest in architectures securing the communication between smart phone and laptop or mirroring the strong authentication and digital signature functionalities like a smart card does. With iEnigma, charismathics has translated standard APIs into Bluetooth language, reproducing the exact PKI authentication environment. Providing full TMS compatibility, enabling secure PIN entry and secure channel messaging by default, the software is immediately available for Windows Mobile. iEnigma will soon run on Android, RIM and Apple, also supporting NFC enabled units.
iEnigma simplifies strong authentication opening it to wider range of user groups. Already using smart cards, iEnigma enhances IT security by design, maintaining compatibility to investments made before. Introducing strong authentication, it extensively saves on hardware and is more flexible to use. Organizations save on constantly lost or damaged hardware.
iEnigma bridges user credentials from phones into computers, encrypting the communication channel, allowing PIN entry on the smart phone itself, thus enhancing the security compared to standard smart cards. By supporting applications on the phone, it works remotely as well. The full PKI compatibility allows for unchanged internal processes.
iEnigma re-invents the smart card and is the first strong authentication product that incorporates the expected permutation of corporate IT systems. Supporting common smart phone platforms, it supports applications both on the computer and the smart phone, putting all credentials together in a secure data container on the phone, whether it is the key chain, flash memory, SIM card or additional secure microSD cards such as the Secure Element for NFC operations. All current products are proprietary or represent a niche - no one offers an iEnigma-like 2-in-1 solution and with side benefits such as: full PKI compatibility; significant reductions in hardware cost by replacing tokens and readers using the phone instead; allowing encrypted communication; secure PIN entry; flexible credentials manageable by the user. iEnigma makes full use of the advantages of smart phones and is still fully compatible with all standard processes, APIs, cryptography algorithms and identity management systems. There is no other product opening the range of contactless authentication applications for PKI, such as in hospitals or transportation or payment schemes. The simple user interface opens up strong authentication to small organizations and the single user, reducing identity thefts and phishing attacks within day-to-day use.
Nerdeky News:
Expanding the range of its offerings, Micromax has launched a new laptop-tablet hybrid dubbed Micromax Canvas Laptab LT777 in India. It is a successor of the Canvas Laptab LT666 which was launched earlier this year. The newcomer is priced at INR 17,999 and is officially said to be exclusively available through Amazon from Tuesday i.e. October 13.
The single-SIM functionality-enabled Micromax Canvas Laptab LT777 boots Windows 10 and features an 11.6 inch multi-touch IPS display with 1366×768 pixels of resolution. The laptop-table hybrid comes with an 8.8mm detachable magnetic keyboard dock which features a touchpad and a full-size USB port.
Powering the Micromax Canvas Laptab LT777 is a 64-bit architecture-based Intel’s fourth-generation Atom Z3735F SoC which packs a quad-core processor (four threads, 2MB cache, 1.33GHz base clock speed and 1.83GHz burst clock speed) coupled with Intel HD Graphics Processing Unit and 2GB of DDR3L RAM. The laptop-tablet hybrid is said to be available in Black color option.
The Micromax Canvas Laptab LT777 features a duo of 2 megapixels shooters placed on its rear and front. It comes with 32GB of EEMC internal storage which is expandable up to 64GB via MicroSD. Connectivity options on the device include USB, Bluetooth, 3G and Wi-Fi. Further, the laptop-tablet hybrid is backed by a 9000 mAh battery, which is officially said to deliver 8-10 hours of usage on a single charge.

Vodafone 455 - cheap touch screen based on Mediatek MTK6225 platform. 1.3MP camera, 2.4-inch screen (resistive touch), FM radio, Opera browser, Bluetooth, MicroSD slot
From the bottom,
Scale, (and my RFP Contractor): One inch from last "t" to first bar code line.
GPS location recorder: Sony GPS-SC1KA GPS unit.
USB Accelerometer: Gulf Coast data concepts ACLR8R, records vibration and positional change in three axis.
USB travel cable.
The white GPS recorder needs to acquire a minimum of three antenna links to the GeoSat constellation. This works outside, in most of the world, well. Cell phones are more sensitive through walls, but still provide an accurate indicator of signal penetration.
It will record up to 24 hours on a single AA battery, and the battery is loaded on the left.
On the right is the lanyard attachment. It is raised away from the body like a bumper as dual purpose for protecting the USB cover as well. The Thumb notch raises cover for reset and access to the female mini USB port - as on MP3 players and/or cell-phone.
This view is of the bottom. At the battery end on the other side are LED function indicators, surrounding the only key - power.
At the narrow end of the blue USB Accelerometer is the removable protective cover of the male USB A connector, like a USB flash drive. There are no outside controls and LED indicators operate visually behind the translucent blue case. The case must be opened to access the Flash Drive chip, normally left in place, and to change the AA battery - remove the screw (which can be longer to attach it to monitored equipment) and then the case will hinge open from the lanyard end. The AA battery lasts a week and collects data until the battery dies. My modification was inspired by dollar store cheap blinky toys - I melted a hole in the case, just above the +positive terminal, and inserted an insulating scrap piece of plastic, holding the contacts apart until it is removed, completing the circuit. On the lanyard end - a braided loop suitable as both handle and carbiner attachment I fashioned from light-weight cotton twine so it won't affect the data collection.
A spring coil of travel USB cable. www.gcdataconcepts.com/ also supplied (and not shown:) a pocket screwdriver (identical to standard convention imprint spiff.) and a small, clear travel case with room for the micro SD chip next to the included MicroSD adapter. The packing slip accompanied the last inclusion - a strip of paper reading "Thank you for purchasing this USB-accelerometer. All documantation and software is contained on the device. Plug it in and enjoy! Visualizaton software requires Java-1.6 or newer to use. if you have question contact tech_support@... You can visit www.gcdataconcepts.com/support to get the latest software.

Huawei has officially announced the release of the Mate 20 and the Mate 20 Pro with many new features. Interestingly, it has revealed that the Mate 20 will abandon the microSD cards for new NM cards.
The NM cards are supposed to come in the same size as the nanoSIM cards. My Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro now offer a choice between nanoSIM cards, and you can replace one SIM card with an NM card.
According to Huawei, the new cards will be 45 percent smaller than the standard microSD card. Unfortunately, there are not many details about the new cards yet.
Information has been shown that the cards will provide speeds of up to 90 megabits per second with options of at least 128 and 256 GB, but we do not know whether there are other sizes and speeds available. via ift.tt/2CQAJUK

"Wouldn't life be easier if there weren't so many plug types?", episode 94...
I'm currently doing an "audit" of all the items I keep in my bag - partly for interest, but also to see if I can cut down the clutter! These are some (!) of the adapters that I keep in my cable-organiser bag, as you never know when you'll end up needing one of them (or so I say). Starting from the top...
The white item is an Apple Lightning-USB "camera" adapter. On the next row down: a "right-angle" female-to-male HDMI coupler, and the red item is a PortaPow "smart charge" and data-blocking adapter*. Below them: two female "couplers" (USB2 and HDMI); at the bottom, a USB "On The Go" (OTG) adapter, which I usually keep for my Raspberry Pi Zero W (for connecting peripherals). Finally, the green item is a cheap USB SD card reader, here showing a MicroSD card adapter inserted.
* The PortaPow is supposed to sit between your smartphone and anything you plug it into to charge from, which you suspect might secretly wish to access your phone's data. Some wags call it a "USB condom"... (The device also "tells" a charger with variable output, that your phone is a high-power device - thus, "forcing" a fast charge if the charger is capable of it.)
Motorola India has finally launched the Moto X4 smartphone in India, as it had promised.
It works with Orange in Switzerland right out of the box like promised. MicroSD card (512MB delivered) can be used up to 8GB, on the right side the battery.

Hello heroes! To capture videos and photos using GoPro Camera, you need a microSD card which sold separately. You will be able to buy Hero 6 Black and Fusion so I bet you wonder how to choose the memory card for these cameras correctly.
As you know GoPro Hero 6 has awesome features. It delivers 2x more performance of HERO5 with 4K60 video. So the maximum bitrate of a video is 78Mb/s.
GoPro Fusion can capture your world like never before — from every angle with no limits. Moreover You can shoot in all directions in stunning 5.2K. So the maximum bitrate of a video is 120Mb/s.
U1 speed class provides the minimum speed 10 MB/s or 80 Mb/s.
U3 speed class provides the minimum speed 30 MB/s or 240 Mb/s.
That means you have to buy micro-sd card with U3 speed class and you won't see any problem.
There are a lot of micro-sd card on Amazon. What's the best brand to choose? GoPro recommends to use Lexar or Sandisk. Samsung is the cheaper than Lexar or Sandisk. Lexar provides the highest speed so it's very expensive. All of them guarantees 30 Mb/s write speed so you don't see any difference while shooting with GoPro hero 6 or Fusion.
I prefer to use Sandisk and I don't have any problem while recording. Don't forget that GoPro Fusion needs 2 micro-SD card and they must be the same.
If you have any questions - feel free to ask them in comments!
