It seems that Xiaomi was silently working on a new entry-level smartphone – the Mi 8014816 which has been spotted at TENAA where it got certified by the certification authority and its specifications got revealed. As of now, Xiaomi hasn’t revealed anything regarding launch, price and availability of the handset.

According to TENAA’s listing, the Mi 8014816 boots Android v4.4.4 KitKat and features a 4.7 inch HD display with 720×1280 pixels of resolution. The handset is powered by an unspecified chipset which packs a quad-core processor running at 1.2GHz of clocked processing speed mated with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 32GB via MicroSD.

The Mi 8014816 features a duo of 8 and 2 megapixels shooters placed on its rear and front, respectively. Connectivity options on the entry-level handset include GPRS, EDGE, 3G, 4G LTE, GPS, Micro-USB, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Further, the smartphone measures 134×67.21×9.2mm and weighs 134 grams.

This lovely little shield is the best way to add a small, colorful and bright display to any project. We took our popular 1.8" TFT breakout board and remixed it into an Arduino shield complete with microSD card slot and a 5-way joystick navigation switch (with a nice plastic knob)! Since the display uses only 4 pins to communicate and has its own pixel-addressable frame buffer, it can be used easily to add a display & interface without exhausting the memory or pins.

The 1.8" display has 128x160 color pixels. Unlike the low cost "Nokia 6110" and similar LCD displays, which are CSTN type and thus have poor color and slow refresh, this display is a true TFT! The TFT driver (ST7735R) can display full 18-bit color (262,144 shades!). And the LCD will always come with the same driver chip so there's no worries that your code will not work from one to the other.

The shield has the TFT display soldered on (it uses a delicate flex-circuit connector) as well as a ultra-low-dropout 3.3V regulator and a 3/5V level shifter so its safe to use with 5V Arduinos. We also had some space left over so we placed a microSD card holder (so you can easily load full color bitmaps from a FAT16/FAT32 formatted microSD card) and a 5-way navigation switch (left, right, up, down, select).

Today I was going to do a macro of my chill pad, but that seemed kind of boring. So I brought out the gorilla pod....then the gadgets came out of the woodwork! This was the last shot before they knocked over the tripod ;o)

This new revision of the MP3 player shield retains the awesome MP3 decoding abilities of the last version but adds the storage functionality of the SD card shield. Now you can pull MP3 files from an microSD card and play them using only one shield, effectively turning any Arduino into a fully functional stand-alone MP3 player! The MP3 Shield still utilizes the VS1053B MP3 audio decoder IC to decode audio files. The VS1053 is also capable of decoding Ogg Vorbis/MP3/AAC/WMA/MIDI audio and encoding IMA ADPCM and user-loadable Ogg Vorbis.

The VS1053 receives its input bitstream through a serial input bus (SPI). After the stream has been decoded by the IC, the audio is sent out to both a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack, as well as a 2-pin 0.1" pitch header.

Bought this as a Christmas gift for my mom. First I investigated the iPod Shuffle, but it was way too overpriced! This wonderful little player however was amazingly priced, and featured:

El Nokia 7900 Prism tiene una carcasa de aluminio grabada a láser con el diseño en forma de diamante que caracteriza a la nueva gama Nokia Prism. Es el primer móvil de la marca finlandesa en incluir una pantalla OLED de 2 pulgadas que soporta hasta 16 millones de colores y cuyo salvapantallas cambia según van pasando las horas del día.

En la foto los tonos luminosos que decoran el teclado son de color rosa, pero podemos elegir entre una selección de 49 colores para que encontremos el que más nos gusta.

Técnicamente el Nokia 7900 Prism es un terminal cuatribanda GSM y dual en la banda 3G lo que nos permite estar comunicados allá donde vayamos. Tiene cámara de 2 megapíxeles con flash y zoom digital de 8 aumentos, 1GB de memoria interna, lector de tarjetas microSD y reproductor multimedia.

Goza de una autonomía de 10 días en espera y 3 horas en conversación, además de conectividad Bluetooth 2.0, USB y uPnP.

Se espera que llegue a las estanterías de toda Europa antes de finales de septiembre y el terminal libre costará 400 euros

Happy Father's Day!

Mom got a shiny new GoPro Hero3 Black Edition for Dad's gift, and so I put myself in charge of supplying him with a memory card. Because MicroSD cards are super tiny, I seized the opportunity to present him with an elaborately-wraped, Inception gift.

The unopened present was an awkwardly shaped box about 2 feet tall. I think the whole thing involved a total of 5 fully wrapped boxes. It was fun! And mildly wasteful, yes.

We all spent a couple hours swimming and hanging out in the back yard, and then Emily and I had to bounce. She's doing a shoot for one of BuzzShift's clients in Boerne, TX. At first they told us it was in Austin. Not quite, guys. Not quite.

The drive took us about four and a half hours, which put us there at around 11:30pm. We're staying at the most poorly organized local hotels I've ever been to. No lobby or anything. I couldn't even figure out where I was supposed to park until I called the number on Google Maps, which I'm pretty sure was answered by an old woman at home on her cell phone.

Instead of a regular check-in, all the rooms have key pads on the doors. I gave her my card info over the phone in exchange for a key code. The room turned out to be dirty, BUT fear not! She anticipated that. Apparently there was a HUGE festival in Boerne this weekend, and tens of people had stayed at this place. As a result, "she" (their cleaning lady?) hadn't yet cleaned all the rooms.

Long story short, the woman on the phone ended up having her son's fiancee leave the room THEY were staying in to find us a clean room. Lucky for us, 7th time is a charm, and we finally have a clean room to sleep in. Thanks, Boerne!

This new revision of the MP3 player shield retains the awesome MP3 decoding abilities of the last version but adds the storage functionality of the SD card shield. Now you can pull MP3 files from an microSD card and play them using only one shield, effectively turning any Arduino into a fully functional stand-alone MP3 player! The MP3 Shield still utilizes the VS1053B MP3 audio decoder IC to decode audio files. The VS1053 is also capable of decoding Ogg Vorbis/MP3/AAC/WMA/MIDI audio and encoding IMA ADPCM and user-loadable Ogg Vorbis.

The VS1053 receives its input bitstream through a serial input bus (SPI). After the stream has been decoded by the IC, the audio is sent out to both a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack, as well as a 2-pin 0.1" pitch header.

Σήμερα θα δούμε το xiaomi mi A3, είναι το καινούργιο budget κινητό της Xiaomi και τα χαρακτηριστικά του είναι δύο, πρώτον το λογισμικό που τρέχει, Android one και δεύτερον η πλάτη του η οποία είναι η ποιο όμορφη πλάτη που υπάρχει για σε κινητό μέχρι 250 ευρώ. Στο κουτί του μαζί με το Mi Α3 έρχεται και μια θήκη σιλικόνης η οποία θα κρατήσει το κινητό σας ασφαλή μέχρι να αγοράσετε μία καλύτερη, ένας φορτιστής ο οποίος είναι 10 Watt και εδώ να πω πως το κινητό υποστηρίζει και γρήγορη φόρτιση έως 18 watt, οπότε όποιος θέλει και αυτή την πολυτέλεια θα πρέπει να αγοράσει ξεχωριστό φορτιστή. Το mi A3 είναι δίκαρτο και μπορεί αντί για δεύτερη να πάρει microSD και μπορείτε να επεκτείνετε τον αποθηκευτικό χώρο μέχρι 256 GB. Στο εσωτερικό έχουμε τον επεξεργαστή Snapdragon 665. Και από την πίσω μεριά έχουμε ένα τρικαμερο σύστημα το οποίο αποτελείται από έναν ευρυγώνιο φακό ο οποίος αποτελεί και την κεντρική κάμερα του κινητού, στα 48 megapixel, ένας υπερευρυγωνιος στα 8 megapixel και ένας βοηθητικός φακός 2 megapixel για το βάθος πεδίου.
