Micro Flesh features five projects in which microbiology of the human body is explored in various ways: 37°C (2001/3), Micro cosm (2002/6), In-Time (2005/7), Unique (2006), Hair Lasje (2005/7).
The processual incubative installations presented as interfaces between art and science include living micro organisms, skin and hair cells. With biotechnological procedures of fragmentation and reconstruction of body, the artist manipulates living material, effecting a re-examination of the notion of living and altering the understanding of the human organism, which is undergoing profound change through tissue engineering and other microbiological procedures. Using scientific tools and methods in the sphere of art the actual social and political questions regarding biotech discourse are being discussed. The project presented at Ars Electronica is Unique, which involves the cultivation of micro cultures donated by observers.
Ideas for micro libraries--small spaces containing informational pamphlets, books, medical files, pens/pencils, etc.
The in-between library occupies the space between two bean-shaped exam rooms, providing a semi-private enclave for sensitive materials. Less sensitive materials could be available on outer walls, and most sensitive materials are inside the exam rooms.
The column library wraps around a column, making use of awkward space. Its tails extend onto the floor, creating spaces to sit and read.
The table-and-chair library slumps over existing furniture, holding information and medical files.
All could be rolled up and stored, with pamphlets simply rolled in.

This micro garden is growing on a rock in my back garden. Reminds me of something on a alien world in a scfi movie.

Something different from me. Yes, Nikon calls macro lenses "Micro"...
One of my favorite things to do recently is "Lens Treasure Hunting". I found this little treasure at KEH.com. It is a Nikon 28-105mm vari app lens which is nicknamed the 'Nikon Swiss Army Lens'. It has Micro capabilities with the flip of a switch. It is light and has very good glass which is a nice combination. I love my 'fast' glass...but sometimes it is really nice to have a smaller and more compact lens for just carrying around.
