"The Minotaur"
By Jess Mone
The showcase for the Micro Commission Film project took place on Sunday 5 October 2014 in the Cornerhouse Annexe.
The Minotaur is a short thriller/drama based on a short story that Jess wrote. The film features Delilah, a young girl trapped in a maze, a maze that is endlessly narrow and dark. She isn't aware of time passing, she never needs to eat or sleep. But she is running. There is something else inside the maze with her, something she only catches glimpses of. But it is difficult to forget those raging, red eyes. And so she runs endlessly, running from a creature she knows nothing of, stopping now and then when she believes she is safe. But she is never safe. The Minotaur sees all.
MICRO
Even the most complex organisms on Earth are made up of simple cells. Inspired by Life, this design utilises the idea of simple building blocks (made up of OLED strips and cylindrical holders) to create shapes of various complexities and styles. Whether you want to create a perfect reading lair, decorate your living space or create something no one have seen before - the sky is the limit when it comes to MICRO. This design allows you to weave light around your lifestyle rather than the other way around, which accentuates LG’s Human Centric Care and Empathy design philosophy.
Wanted to build some more house, but wanted them to look like row houses without actually being attached to the sides.
Well done Kelly for picking up teeny tiny micro toad! Or is it a frog? Well, its very small and cute. I could've taken this one home as a pet...
Micro Experiment
My first attempt at micro flower shot. And it proved what I learned from book before. I do need a tripod because my hands move sometimes. Without a tripod it's really not easy to take a clear shot. Also, enough light is important so the shutter speed can be faster. However, with tripod and photoshop light seems not that important. lol I guess I need to grab a tripod since I couldn't find an appropriate one at home. ;)
The micro fluff is the newest (and smallest!) member of the Pocket Fluff family!
This little one is about 1 inch tall and 1.5 inches wide.
He's made of a light pink faux fur.
His face was hand painted by me using artist quality acrylics and sealed with a matte varnish.
Pocket Fluffs are able to stand on their own. :)
The Pocket Fluff Monsters are made from my original design.
****Please Note:
The micro pocket fluffs are VERY small. I only recommend this size for adult collectors.****
I found this mini praying mantis while watering a young olive tree. It is about 1cm long and very quick! I eventually figured out that it prefers to seek the high ground so was quite happy sitting on my fingertip.
There were Three Micro Trains cars from their January 2020 releases that I wanted to purchase. It also gave me an opportunity to purchase one from their September 2019 releases that I held off on in order to make the order worth it. Shown above is the Jack Frost tank car from the September release and the RF&P gondola from the January release. I have two of the older Atlas Jack Frost covered hoppers and thought this tank car would go well with those. The RF&P gondola will get three cable reel loads to match my other CSX gondola and two center depressed flats carrying power generators.
