One day, I am going to get a really good camera so I can take pictures like these of my cakes. In the meantime, my very talented cousin in-law Calvin, who is a budding young photographer (www.deiphotography.com), was kind enough to offer to take all my cake pictures from now on.
Thanks Calvin :)
Today was pretty grool. I went to BJ's with my mother dearest and grandmother to get groceries and Kickass (which I still haven't seen). I don't think we've ever bought so much food. Can you imagine riding in the back seat of a Honda Fit with $900 worth of groceries that barely fit in it? Not that fun. So I came home and my Mom, sister and brothers went to Disney and I went to the mall to enjoy the last day of this tax free shindig. Thank you Urban Outfitters for your awesome sales and for putting Beach House and The Ramones vinyls at $9.90, solid colored loose tank tops at $9.90, jewelry holders at $2.99 and this awesome red bra thing for $4.99. Yeah, I'm happy with my purchases.
Blackforest cake. Made over 2 evenings/nights on work days. The baking was easy. Sculpting the cake to the right shape and then covering it with cream while still keeping the overall shape wasn't. Total time taken: 5 hours. Tired now.
In honor of Susan (DigitalSLG), here is one of the shots of Canada in It's a Small World at Disneyland Park Paris. Thanks for looking!

Testing out my new 50mm f/1.8 Mark II today. I thought a great low-light situation would be the American Idol Experience show at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Great show and stage!
I believe I was almost completely wide open on this and realize that my focal point may be a hair off the logo. Oh well, if I were to do it again...
My Disney collection has been confined to my home office, until I received this cute Mickey Mouse bowl for Christmas! It has found it's way into my red kitchen; I think it will be used for apples!

Feel free to scraplift, but if you do, let me know. I would love to see yours!
