"all that is possible within the limits must be due and will be accomplished" - Jules Verne
Discoveryland was in part inspired by Jules Verne books. While I couldn't find anything about this garden, it appears to be a tribute to him. A couple of things to note in this photo. I've mentioned the maintenance issues at DLP. You will notice the flag in the center is torn and faded. One of the pillars in the back is missing a flag. I just can't imagine a prominent display in CA or FL with this level of maintenance issues. Also, notice the gray skies. We had them the 2 days we were there. It many of the photos, I used my friend CS4 to help add some color. Thanks again for looking.

Finally, it's done. I was so proud of this cake when I finished it. I had a whole bunch of pictures of different Clubhouse cakes from Flickr and other sites, and ideas were borrowed and adapted from so many places. In the end, I was very happy with this. The bottom cake is chocolate filled with raspberry and the top cake is coconut with lemon curd filling.
From grandmas tin box, taken in the 1950s but the girls seem to have got hold of an older style Mickey Mouse

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mickey_Mouse
Mickey Mouse is a cartoon character who has become an icon for The Walt Disney Company. Mickey Mouse was created in 1928 by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks. He was voiced by Walt Disney from 1928–1946 theatrically, and again from 1955–1959 for the original ABC TV Mickey Mouse Club television series. The Walt Disney Company celebrates his birth as November 18, 1928, upon the release of Steamboat Willie. The anthropomorphic mouse has evolved from being simply a character in animated cartoons and comic strips to become one of the most recognizable symbols in the world.
Client wanted this mickey mouse face cake... face is 8" cake and the ears and chin where carved from a 9" x 13" cake
The theme for this party was Champagne and mickey mouse , Mickeys hands look a little suss to me !!!
Made this cake for my 2 year old's b-day. She's a big fan of Mickey. I have never attempted fondant, gum paste or any molding-type substance, so I cheated and purchased the figurines. Frosting is buttercream.
This cake was a challenge for me. The customer wanted a Dora and a Mickey Mouse themed cake, so I struggled with the design. I tried to make a Dora figure but it didn\'t turn out very well, so I ended up putting a toy on top. The cake is cute I think, even it it\'s not 100% edible. It\'s a 10\" two layer buttercream with fondant accents.
I just started it this year, so it's pretty weak. I kind of figured going into it that I'd get addicted--there are so many more pieces I want to add to it next year :(
Today was pretty grool. I went to BJ's with my mother dearest and grandmother to get groceries and Kickass (which I still haven't seen). I don't think we've ever bought so much food. Can you imagine riding in the back seat of a Honda Fit with $900 worth of groceries that barely fit in it? Not that fun. So I came home and my Mom, sister and brothers went to Disney and I went to the mall to enjoy the last day of this tax free shindig. Thank you Urban Outfitters for your awesome sales and for putting Beach House and The Ramones vinyls at $9.90, solid colored loose tank tops at $9.90, jewelry holders at $2.99 and this awesome red bra thing for $4.99. Yeah, I'm happy with my purchases.
