A bright and sunny March morning, the flowers and trees surrounding Walt and Mickey are looking beautiful. It’s rumored that Walt didn’t want a statue of himself at Disneyland, or any Disney park. I do hope he’d be ok with this now, if he had gotten the chance to see it. Disney Imagineer and animator Blaine Gibson designed it and I think we all agree he got it right. Certainly one of the most photographed locations at Disneyland. Who doesn’t get a picture standing here under Walt’s watchful gaze?

I made 3 dozen Mickey Mouse cookies and 3 dozen cupcakes for a birthday party for my neighbors daughter. I was happy with the way they turned out and they were fun to make.

These were the third style of cupcake for the MIckey/Minnie inspired cupcake order (with the Dora cake). I wanted to do something that didn't have too much fondant on it, so that people wouldn't pick it off. They were a hit. The buttercream was flavoured (and partly coloured) by this new powdered food colouring that also has flavour. It was raspberry (and actually quite yummy).
