This is a card I created for my best friend’s birthday. I wanted to create a card in her favorite color, and the Memory Box blueberry was perfect. I used a blueberry notecard and the Memory Box blueberry dot paper. To see a couple of papercrafting tips and close-up photos, please see my Memory Box post here:

I found my old memory box today. I knew I had brought it with me when we first moved in but I hadn't seen it for about 2 years. It is full of love notes, poems, photos, tickets to days out, cards and even the very first rose he had ever bought me. It's a little crispy now but still in tact and hasn't lost any of it's beautiful colour.

We look so young in some of the photos and the cute little poems we used to write to each other are so cute. I'll put this in with my wedding scrap book I'm currently making. It's nice to keep hold of all the wonderful parts of a relationship and keep them locked away in a secret box, it reminds you of all the good times.

I hate seagulls

And I hate being sick

I hate burning my finger on the toaster

And I hate nits

I hate falling over

I hate grazing my knee

I hate picking off the scab a little bit too early

I hate getting toothache

I hate when it's a piss take

I hate all the mistakes I make

I hate rude ignorant bastards

And I hate snobbery

I hate anyone who if I was serving chips wouldn't talk to me

But..

I have a friend

With whom I like to spend

Any time I can find with

I like sleeping in your bed

I like knowing what is going on inside your head

I like taking time and I like your mind

And I like when your hand is in mine

I like getting drunk on the dunes by the beach

I like picking strawberries

I like cream teas and I like reading ghost stories

And my heart skips a beat every time that we met

It's been a while and now your smile is almost like a memory

But then you're back and I am fine 'cause you're with me and I'm in love with you

And I can't find the words to make it sound unique

But honestly you make me strong

I can't believe I've found someone this kind

I hope you'll carry on

'Cause you're so nice and I'm in love with you..

Made with the September, 2016, Simon Says Stamp Card Kit. Patterned papers by Doodlebug. Additions to kit: Heart dies by Simon Says Stamp, Postage stamp die by Memory Box, seed beads from my stash.

Sometimes it is hard to use thinner paper or thinner cardstock to cut intricate dies because the papers sometimes rip as they are being removed from the die. I wanted to show you a tip that I discovered the other day that really works well and reinforces the thin paper to die cut beautifully. Look here to see my tip:

I love the new Memory Box paper & stamps...ok, I love all of the Memory Box papers & stamps. Who wouldn't!?!

This is my 6x6 page for the Hymn & Scripture Challenge. Our word and study this week are on the hymn " Though Troubles Assail Us." The scriptures I used were:

Philippians 4:19 "And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus."

Proverbs 18:10 "The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe."

I used the amazing Memory Box boysenberry paper. The color is so very rich, and it just reminds me how Jesus is King! He is in control! I really wanted the focus of this page to be this majestic color. I also found that the Adirondack Color Wash wild plum matches the boysenberry paper perfectly. I spritzed a bit of it on the page for fun. For the hymn, I printed it out on a paper bag and crumpled it up. I then cut the writer's information out and added it as a tag.

How does this hymn help us? What trouble or troubles are you facing? Were you caught in the middle of Hurricane Sandy? Are you now experiencing the aftermath of the storm? Or maybe you are in the midst of another personal difficulty. God will provide. He will be there to hold you up amidst the storm. He is trustworthy. He is the great Promise Keeper and always keeps His promises. To see more photos and to read the entire study, please see my post here:

This is a card I created using a painted background that I made. It was a bit dark so I decided to stamp on top of the background using white ink. Now I just can’t decide if I should send this as a congrats card for a wedding that will take place this weekend or send to a friend just diagnosed with breast cancer. Decision, decisions. This is an altered mini SMASH! book that I created for my dad. In celebration of his 70th birthday, I created a "70 Things" book for part of his gift. For the cover, I used a Blue Fern Studios (BFS) medallion from the Ornate Medallions set and the arrow from the Icon Set One. This is not a "frilly" creation since it's for Dad. :) Inside the book, my girls and I have listed 70 things we love about him, written notes, etc. The cover includes a crossword he did at our house during Christmas week while he was here. He LOVES crosswords. I scanned the crossword he completed from the newspaper, and I printed it on a grocery bag so it would match the cover. Then I spritzed the awesome BFS chippies with Heidi Swapp tinsel color shine, and then I threw on some black gesso. I also stamped the date on the BFS arrow for his birthday. I pray he likes it. To see more information and a close-up photo, please see my Blue Fern Studios post here:

This is an 8x8 layout of our new home that I created for our first Blue Fern Studios DT blog hop.
