I remember this old blue Taunus very well. I actually cleaned it inside and out when I was a teenager. A few years ago, maybe 15 years ago, it was sold. I like this picture of Max next to his old gem. The picture of Angela is much, much older. I like these two pictures, framed together, on the wall. I like this memory of Max.

… of the house where my Grandpa and Grandma used to live (many years ago), the house where my mother grew up, where my aunties lived (one of them from the age of 7 until the age of 93!), the house we visited every weekend, the house with a beautiful garden. In this garden in red currents grew. My aunt Nellie (a very affable woman) plucked them, put them in cup, wash them carefully and let me eat the berries. They were delicious!

The glass bowls are from that particular house ... the red currents from the market.

The doorway to The Ivy in Glasgow is a popular spot for social media photographs. I do wonder how many go on to eat inside, or can even afford to.

We live through turbulent times in an increasingly crazy world. Take care, take photos and keep making memories.

Not long before my father died, I took an early morning walk down this lane near my parent's residence. It was a soft gray morning and all was peaceful in the Sonoma Valley. I took a few pictures and filed them for posterity. The other evening I found this one and the memories came flooding back.

Green Green Grass of Home

Song by Tom Jones

The old hometown looks the same

As I step down from the train

And there to meet me is my mama and papa

Dow the road I look and there runs Mary

Hair of gold and lips like cherries

It's good to touch the green, green grass of home

Yes, they'll all come to meet me

Arms reaching, smiling sweetly

It's good to touch the green, green grass of home

Listen

... The old house is still standing

Though the paint is cracked and dry

And there's that old oak tree that I used to play on

Down the lane, I walk with my sweet Mary

Hair of gold and lips like cherries

It's good to touch the green, green grass of home

... Yes, they'll all come to see me

In the shade of that old oak tree

Then I awake and look around me

At four grey walls that surround me

And I realize, yes, I was only dreaming

For there's a guard and there's a sad, old padre

On and on, we'll walk at daybreak

Again, I'll touch the green, green grass of home

As they lay me

'Neath the green, green grass of home...

...

You live in my memory,

though we've never met.

I know you are out there somewhere and haven't found me yet.

Rest assure I will be waiting,

when you finally come my way...

Patiently I am waiting, and hoping for that day.

Even though I have stepped away from SL, fond memories of each of you will always be with me. You know who you are AM, RS, EC, KW, LL, Amy T, CB, G, PR, PM, AND VR.

Once upon a time this beach was littered with cobble boats jacked up on wheel axles. All standing ready for local fishermen to head to sea and tend their small nets and pots. Now the beach is empty. As small children we used to play in the boats until we were chased by the fishermen. We also used them as wind breaks when enjoying the beach in the summer months. Yes this beach brings back the memories.
