here's another one from last year - I posted mostly the more spectacular ones of this scene, where the rising sun was hitting the cloud, but this caught my eye while browsing through looking for something else -I like the shapes - and you can never have too much of Table Mountain
Shinning brightly over the rest. A unique, kind and loving man and one who was like my extra Dad.
Mike, a very long time friend died at the end of June, but for some reason, I didn't get Julie's email telling me. She emailed me about something else and then replied telling me the news, yesterday evening.
A wonderful father to their 3 children and a great Granddad to their 7 grandchildren. Plus a wonderful extra Dad to me.
Julie and Mike are the friends that often came over to visit us either here or where we used to live. They last visited in September 2018.
Will miss you Mike. ♥
Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites. :O)
On a beautiful warm Wednesday evening I cycled over to the Millennium dome as I still like to call it or present title the 02 arena on Greenwich peninsula along the Thames river path from Woolwich.
The largest concert venue in the UK was certainly different & quieter to the last time I was here for obvious reasons!
It has never been my favourite London music venue as I prefer the sound, exciting atmosphere & slope of Brixton academy. The perfect size, funny memories & acoustics of London forum & the beautiful intimacy of Union chapel.
But it holds a special place in my heart as it reminds me of my dear departed mum who visited here with her friends when it opened back in 2000 & I remember her so happy about telling me what a fantastic day she had, showing me photos & momentos she had bought....Joyful memories :0)

Two elderly people admire the steam trains.
Both held hands & i could tell the era of steam trains held special memories for them both.

Last week we had to say goodbye to our sweet, loyal friend, Banjer.
Banjer, a Kooikerhondje, a spaniel-like Dutch breed, had cancer.
He was 12 ½ years old.
Afgelopen week hebben wij afscheid moeten nemen van onze allerliefste trouwe vriend, Banjer, een kooikerhandje.
Hij had kanker en is 12 ½ jaar geworden.

I am still alive & kicking.... Things have been really dull around here the last 6 weeks so far as birds go; I have had very few pictures to post lately. I spent some time shooting Hummingbirds back in September and had a handful of decent pictures. Always pleasing to get a reasonable shot :-)
Life brings simple pleasures to us every day. It is up to us to make them wonderful memories.
