My 2nd time around in Taiwan has been amazing. One of the lessons i learned in while being in Taiwan - Without Christ, everything is vain. With Christ, you have everything.

Carlton cemetery Chapel built by Robert Charles Clark in 1850. Most of my aunts, uncles, grandparents and my father are buried or laid upon these grounds and this will most likely be my final gateway out of this mortal existence. I've had many fond memories here both good, bad and sad. When I was young and didn't understand nor most probably care much about this place I used to play football with friends on the recreation ground next door to it and ever so often get over the fence to walk amongst the graves at night to try get over the wall at the Drill Hall Territorial Army Barracks which I was later to join for a short while. Although we never succeeded until that point to get over, we still managed to get up to some kind of mischief in the processes.

…memories…
…my life, in cardboard boxes…
…my loves, my fears, my longings, my missings, my laughs, my heart, my brain…
…my power!…
The second upload of my grandfathers record of military service. The postcards are dated 1941 the location is Messina in Italy I would guess. Some images are identical, however there are slight differences in focus point and aperture.Although there are many who would deem these items very personal,I feel no burden in that sense. It gives me enormous pleasure knowing that the observer will likely never have seen such items in their lifetime and are in fact historical documents relating to an army infantryman. Also in the main because like all British Servicemen, they should not be forgotten especially as this being Remembrance Sunday. These images like those on the previous upload have been uploaded to Alamy.com which is one of the biggest stock companies in the world. In doing this I have safeguarded the memory of my grandfathers army papers,in case I inadvertently lose his papers. There are more to follow, however they will not be uploaded until next week.Do Not Use Without Express Permission From Peter Wheeler.

I debated for some time if I should publish this picture, but after much consideration I felt that today, of all days, was probably the best of days on which to include it.
There is much debate over the reasons for Holodomor, or "Extermination by Hunger". Was Stalin targeting the Ukraine people with his policies, or was he mindlessly attacking anyone and anything that stood in his way? I don't know, I doubt anyone will ever truly know the mind of Stalin, what is not debated is that millions died of starvation, possibly as many as 7.5 million in Ukraine alone, as a result of the first five year plan.
This simple memorial stands just outside the church at the edge of Severodonetsk as a lasting reminder that, on this last day of 2012, man's worst enemy is always himself and the atrocities his is prepared to enact on his fellow man. A photographer's place is not to politicize, but just to record. But if we don't remember the disasters of the past, both from this last year and further back into history, then we will, without doubt, repeat the same mistakes.
I don't believe in much, but I do believe it is our responsibilities, not just to wish each other a happy new year and rely on hope. Saying the words at the end of the year simply isn't enough any more. Very few people really believed the Mayan prediction that the world was going to end in December, but the balance has become so delicate that it is no longer beyond reason and even the most scientific among us wondered just how close to the tipping point the world has become, both economically and environmentally.
We must strive to actively ensure that 2013 will be a better year than 2012 for every person that we make contact with over the next 12 months. With that in mind ... have a happy 2013

Sopot is located in the North of Poland. It has wonderful hotels, beaches, pubs, restaurants and forests. Sopot is one of the best spots for summer holidays in Europe. Sopot is one of the smallest but one of the most beautiful Polish towns. A big forest surrounds Sopot to the west and Gdansk Gulf to the east. It takes about four hours from Polish capital Warsaw by train to Sopot. During summer there are more visitors than citizens from all parts of Europe. Do not look for other place to make hotel reservation in Poland.

I wonder if my rope's still hanging from the tree
By the standing pool where you drank me
And filled me full of thirsty love
And the memory of water?
I wonder if a king still fishes there
His back towards the burned-out air
His laughing catches singing loud
The memory of water
Your taste is blood and ecstasy
But I must drink you all alone
You're freckled like a speckled egg
A dove, but this bird has flown
O stay with me sweet memory
O stay with me
I wonder if my rope's still hanging from the tree
By the standing pool where you drank me
As pain flows through me like champagne
Of the memory of water
