Catwoman circa 1967
Vintage repro Barbie with custom outfit. Rerooted. 11.5 inches tall
Restored and customized Batman Mego. Figure is 13 inches tall.
The Mego Star Trek 12 inch Klingon tends to turn grey. I used women's face powder/Blush in tans, reds, pinks to "dye" the grey away. It seeps into the plastic over time covering the grey.
Yes ! MEGO grail acquired !
Back in the day, I had a type 1 then a type 2 body Spiderman.
Also I had a type 2 body Lizard man. Two of them actually.
I wanted a green Goblin so bad. I never saw one anywhere.
In their 8 inch figure line, MEGO, only made two Marvel villains. Lizard and Green Goblin.
This Green Goblin looks like he just was opened out of his box. Or the rare carded version ?
He was hard to pass on. Being all vintage. And a type 1 body...
And I like Spiderman. But was always more of a fan of his bad guys...
I think the 1967 Spiderman cartoons helped make that happen.
They reran over and over through the 1970s....
an update as my collection has grown a bit since the last pic. 9 are vintage Mego, 7 are more recent (see notes)- the rest are customs; I still need to finish my SMDM series. The Man-Wolf is my first and only custom Mego purchase: it was made by the amazing Type 3 Toys and it really deserves its own closeup! Boxes by Anthony @ the-toyroom.com except the 1966 series.
(I did a little ms paint to counteract the flash)

Snow has put the Marigold Patch into a deep Winter slumber. Barbarian Steel mourns the loss of his Summertime joy, frolicking through the Marigolds. The Marigolds were his one escape from the pent up anger that he carries with him. His Dojo Master, Dr. Steel, introduced him to the mysterious power of the Marigolds. Now gone until Summer of next year.
Found at the salvage store. We had already found Kelly, and now are keeping a lookout for Kris.
Given that Kelly didn't look anything at all like Jaclyn Smith and Sabrina likewise bears no resemblance at all to Kate Jackson, I suspect that is intentional so that Mego only has to pay licensing on the character and none to the actress. There are not even photos of the actress on the cards.
Farrah by Mego
This is probably my favorite Farrah by Mego. She is a latter version with sun-kissed tan skin tone and golden blonde hair. This one has the cheaper "clone-like" hollow body that didn't "melt" and stain the fashions-- a big plus+. She is wearing the white halter "dress" variant.
The first issue sun-kissed Farrah had the "frosted" hair color that made her look prematurely grey. She had the basic "Cher" body that typically melted around the shoulders and hips and came wearing the more common white halter "pantsuit".

PHOTO TITLE: "NOVA SIGMA GYRO: Mego Micronauts Customized Vehicle"
Digital photography and Photoshopped artwork by , Alexis Dyer.
Created on 12/13/2010.
From a huge pile of literally thousands of new and used Mego Micronauts odds and ends, I was able to construct this customized vehicle, which I call the Nova Sigma Gyro.
I snapped this vehicle together using 114 individual pieces. Except for the blue-tinted bubble cockpit, red cockpit seat and black tread, which come from the Interchangeables Cosmic Amphi-Copter, all the other parts I used here are from various Mego Micronauts toys.
PAINTED VERSION COMING SOON! ...STAY TUNED!
Wanna build your own Nova Sigma Gyro? You'll need parts from the following Micronauts toys (click on these blue hyperlinks to learn more about them):
* ACROYEAR
* HYDRA

I made her this outfit in an hour. It's a simple repro of a mego Cher outfit "visions". It didn't come in purple as far as I know, but that's my favorite color. So I made it in purple!:)
My small traditional 8-inch Mego collection, spring 2009. Only a couple of these are vintage originals: Kirk, Spidey, Spock & Galen/Cornelius. The rest are reproductions of classic Megos, or customs.
I don't really consider myself an 8" Mego collector, but I do like to get them if they're a character I like, and the design is nice.
I'm really happy to have Ghost Rider - a MegoMeet special edition, and the Invisible Man - the exclusive from MegoCon.
My custom Superhost - featured in Cleveland Magazine - is there in the background! I have a custom Ultraman in the works.
Mego originally used skinny bodies strung by elastic on all their figures. The limbs tended to flail out a bit. Mego collectors call these T1 figures now. My first Spock was a Type 1 (T1) - I loved him to pieces as a kid, literally.
In first grade I took him to school one day and the internal string broke and he fell apart. I cried like a baby at his "death." A girl in class told me that her father could fix him and she took him home.
What seemed like years passed and she never brought him back. I finally told my mother to take me to her house to get Spock back, but we didn't know where she lived.
My mother finally said "why didn't you tell me it broke. I would have just bought you a new one." I had never thought of that and I wanted my Spock back. But later that week I got a brand new one.
This one here I bought a few years ago just to have another Type 1 Spock again.
Made by Mego .
And released each year from 1974 to 1977.
This is the earlier Type 1 body. So I am assuming
this figure was from 1974....
My original Kirk was a Type 2 body. And my Spock was a Type 1. I always wanted to have the crew in all Type 1 bodies ...
I like most vintage Megos in Type 1 bodies, if possible.
But some I like Type 2 bodies better.
Like Batman and Robin. Mine original ones were Type 2s.
They don't look right to me as Type 1s.....

A big Thank you to Elaine ( barbie_paradise77) for sending me this gorgeous ultra rare "Star Brite" fashion by Mego for my birthday! Wow! This is 80's glamour at it's finest. Misty Hollows Poppy seemed the perfect girl with her silver hair to model this spectacular gown with the silver shimmer background and the fantastic Atomic Star design. This is the best of the 80's glamour and a touch of 60's Atomic Star combined. And the white feather boa take it to another level. Poppy will surely be the best dressed girl at the celebration. Thank you so much! I love it!
