Star Trek meets the BBC

Batman: Ahem... I'm B..

Sindy: Why hello there little fella', aren't you the cutest thing in a pair of boots!

Batman: I'm Batman.

Sindy: Aww, a little bat man. I see the widdle ears. Do come in.

Batman: Hmpf! They warned me about this place. I should have listened and stayed in the cave.

Sindy: Nonsense! I'm Sindy. Are you here to stay, I can't help but notice your knapsack? Have a seat dearie and I'll make you a cuppa.

Batman: (Thinking) "At least they serve drinks. Better blend in with the locals." - Thanks.

I have a Batman!!

He's a MEGO action figure, released in the 1970s, but was based on the appearance of the 1966 TV version of the character. (Thanks Dave and Dal for the info)

Do you believe in life after love??!A rare and unusual find in a second hand store! Bono was also avaiable , but he was gone when I came back. Her body says MEGO 1975. I found it is a Pink Panther outfit designed by Bob Mackie. She seems to be freshly taken out of the box, because the hair was still tied with plastic, and her body and outfit look completly new, I think I found a mini treasure!!!

Side closeup of the head of the resin mockup of TOPEN, one of the Micronaut-derived toys from the early 1980s LORDS OF LIGHT action figure line.

The head of the Micronaut figure this is derived from was something of a walking clam, with a diminutive torso that was mostly head. The arms were attached in the circular holes you see on the side of this mockup's head! A hand-tooled chunk of resin helps construct a new back for the head, minus the joint the Micronaut toy had there. The final production Lords of Light Topen has a giant head with eyes added in. Some people have said it looks like a weird big Mardi Gras mask.

"Doll Chat" interactive challenge game for the Figurvore and MWD forums and now back on FLICKR, ta da!

Simply plop your selected doll on a table, take a pic and have her/him state their name in answer to someone else's doll. (See Dave's photos down below.) This used to be a "thing" many years ago on Flickr, but it has sadly petered out.

*******

This is a Mego Corp Farrah Fawcett doll from 1977. At least her head (and yeah we better not talk about her hair.. it's a touchy subject) but her body is borrowed from a Hasbro Sindy.

About the Cooler... never mind. Too long a story to tell. If you're really curious, there's an album to trudge through.

"The Secret In The Cooler"

From the 1970's Micronauts toy line by Mego.

Mego heads on Moxie Teenz bodies. From left: Re-rooted Toni Tennille, Jaclyn Smith, Farrah Fawcet and Cher. Gowns by Eaki.

KRAKOOOM!!

Thor!

It's Thor!

Ohh, Thor!!

Verily and forsooth! Thor hath returned to the Labor Day special! This maketh thrice that the Odinson hath appearedeth on this day to celebrate the working peasants!

Oh, Thor!!

Thor!!

Cowboy Cliff confronts the Varmint that has been wreaking havoc across West Clampett County.

I think the Intruders were always a better match for Super Joe .

As they seem like the perfect army for Gor.

The 12 inch scale figures are about the same height as Gor. But are wider.

So I wanted to make these Mego version customs. So they would be in scale with SJ.

I had the 2 original Intruders in childhood.

It was a love/hate relationship. I like their unique design. But not their limited articulation. Their arms came off way too easily !

But having a better body with more articulation makes them way more interesting to me now :)

Batman kicked off his boots, sipped his tea while he marvelled over the quiet life of rural Cooperstown. No supervillains as far as the eye could see.

"I could settle down here," he though. "Buy a cottage, grow some vegetables, get a cat... Alfred could come visit in the weekends."

Sindy: *From the kitchen* I say, what's your opinion on Barbie? And how good are you with kids, the little Blythe kind?

"I could also jump into the Batmobile and skedaddle while there's still time", he thought.

Coy and Vance Duke by Mego. These are the harder to find figures Mego released when John Schneider and Tom Wopat sued the series producers for not getting paid for their likenesses on merchandise and walked off the show. Coy and Vance were quick replacements.

These are terrible sculpts that Mego must have rushed into production. Mego didn't even change the card art that still showed Schneider and Wopat. But they both actors returned to the show relatively quickly and Coy and Vance disappeared.

I got these loose (with no shirts) at different times cheaply as most sellers don't know they are the not Bo and Luke. Coy (the blonde) was portrayed by Byron Cherry and Vance by Christopher Mayer.

Mego Zira with his newly painted "mini-me" counterpart.

The 12 inch Mego Jaws from "Moonraker" James Bond film almost always has the grey fading. I used human face powder to color the gray away. It's hard to get a smoothly even coating but in person it looks just fine. The camera flash over lights the face too.

Another test shot (and spot of editing) - realised I needed some wooded approach shots to St Megos... but outside is too wet and windy... and my diorama table is occupied! So this was quickly assembled in a corner of my toy den. The usual suspects; blue styrofoam, moss matts & artificial plants plus a few branches from the garden (Magnolia twigs have marvellous gnarled shapes!)

Julia 1969 is wearing ‘Radiant’, a Bob Mackie design for the Cher doll, made by Mego toys, 1976. She is ready to start the weekend in high style!! Oh...and I’ve been experimenting with sparkles.☺️

Well I got six solid Sentrys.

Was going through my Mego figures.

And organizing . I don't think I took a shot of all of them.

Made by Mego 1979

So here they are.

The Astro Station is open to all Time Travelers

Mr. Spock, from Wave 2 of the 2018 Mego reboot.

FINALLY removed all the crystal glassware from that cabinet and put some dolls in there instead, as my Sindy house and Mego shelf was getting quite crowded! LOL

Sylvie Vartan by Raynal (Mego Lic). I had two - I so wish I kept the other as I'd love to have got ten her re-rooted...

Star Trek's Ilia as Space Princess (Mego) with a wicked white wig...

Superstar (Cheryl Ladd) by Palitoy (Mego Lic). This doll is said to have been designed by Mego as its Cheryl Ladd doll. When Cheryl signed with Mattel, the doll was sold as Superstar outside the USA by Palitoy. Is this fact or merely urban legend? Up until 5 years ago, I had never even seen one of these dolls. She had many of Cher's fashions repackaged for her in the UK.

Farrah (Mego) - This is my favorite Farrah. She has the sunkissed sking tone and golden hair. She is wearing Networks... I'd love to find the brown version of this outfit at an affordable price.

Batman: Hello, hello! What can I do for you young ladies?

Patch: This is more of a "What we can do for you" situation.

Batman: Oh?

Patch: Just let us inside and we'll tell you.

Batman: No hand grenades, bombs, kittens or other lethal weaponry in those rucksacks are there? One can't be too careful.

Patch: Nope.

Batman: Alrighty then. Come on in!

Polly: *To us* Holy gullible-oly. Isn't he a trusting one?

____

Naturally, his Batsense would alert him of any real danger!

Or so I've been told..

HONK! HONK!!

Whoa!! It's Charlie's Angels!!

With guns!!

And bell bottoms!!!

Wowowow!!

This Labor Day party just got a whole lot more Laborious!

No one can possibly out-do their entrance!

Wait! What's that sound of thunder??

So... a straight jacket?

Would you pour a little wine on your hand and stick it in this bread loaf?

AL!! Where's all the food??

They're cooking it, Peg.

Well, I'm HUNGRY!

I wish I'd stayed in the tub.
