Celebrating Dr. E's LAw of Moving Dimensions ^& Dynamic Dimensions Theory dx4/dt=ic which derives from Homer's Odyssey! "Tell me, O muse, of that ingenious hero who travelled far and wide after he had sacked the famous town of Troy. Many cities did he visit, and many were the nations with whose manners and customs he was acquainted; moreover he suffered much by sea while trying to save his own life and bring his men safely home; but do what he might he could not save his men, for they perished through their own sheer folly in eating the cattle of the Sun-god Hyperion; so the god prevented them from ever reaching home. Tell me, too, about all these things, O daughter of Jove, from whatsoever source you may know them." --Homer's Odyssey! herosodysseyphysics.wordpress.com
Drove 60 miles down a rocky dirt road for these shots and camped overnight to shoot this Torweap / Tuweep sunrise! Toroweap, a Paiute terms,"dry or barren valley." And it was! I slept five feet from the edge all night, as I was shooting night shots of a dead tree on the edge, with the canyon and silvered river down below.

Will be busy printing and framing in nice large, matted formats and frames and museum glass! Five of these photos will be printed on 40" x 60" floating wall mounted metal sheets! I think I know which--will share photos of the photos hanging on the walls!
And I am mounting some on plexiglass/acryllic--front mounting them! Some I am printing on lossy fuji-crystal archival paper too, and then front mounting 40"x60" versions to plexiglass--will send photos!
The secret to HDR photography is that you want people to say, "Woe dude--that's unreal!" And not, "Dude--that's not real!" "Unreal" is the word they use when they're trying to figure out the photo--what makes it cool--is it a photo? Is it painted? How'd it come to be--how'd you bend the light that way? "That's not real," is what they say if you have the saturation/HDR/ etc. turned up too high. :)
Some (almost) final edits for my Los Angeles Gallery Show! Printing them on metallic paper at 13" x 19" and mounting and framing them on a 4mm 18x24 white mat and 2" dark wood frame. Captured with a #Kipon made #Baveyes 0.8x Focal Reducer in Mamiya 645 to Fujifilm GFX adaptor with Fuji 50s II and Mamiya 8m F1.9 attached and shot wide open. Mosaic of the Moon, composed of 80 single images. For each single image a movie of 1500 frames was recorded with a ZWO ASI 178 MM camera through a Celestron 9.25 telescope. From each movie the sharpest 150 frames were extracted and stacked with AviStack2.
The color for this mosaic was recorded with a Canon 6D through the same scope (stack of 44 images). The color was enhanced to show the different hues of the lunar surface.

They look awesome! Stop on by Bel Air Camera's Gallery downstairs if you are close to UCLA or in Westwood. Give me a head's up, and I will meet you there if I'm free.

Something I came up with while experimenting with displaying large amounts of Twitter data. In this case all the Tweets about the TEDxWaterloo conference. Using speech bubble images generated live for the Twitter Wall I created for the event.
These are all the public Twitter messages sent during the event that mention the word tedxwaterloo. Each column in this display represents the messages from a 10 minute period.

i spent a whole lot of time trying to photoshop in "228" shaved out of my stubble... and when i went on to processing the whole photo, i realized it looked really bad. this i decided to leave it practically SOOC, and just give it this sepia/grey tint... give you a look at all the rough detail.. much better.

Sony Alpha DSLR-A100, a compact, ten megapixel (CCD) digital SLR with a (Konica) Minolta lens mount, Anti-Shake (now Super SteadyShot) and a definite cross-breed appearance. It's fair to say that while this camera may share some components with previous Konica Minolta digital SLR's Sony's involvement has brought external styling, build quality and finish up to a higher standard. The lens mount is to be called the 'Alpha mount' and Sony has announced no less than 19 lenses which will carry the Sony Alpha branding (although many are based on existing Minolta lenses).

At 56 megapixels easily the largest photograph I have downloaded on Flickr. The skyline of Dundee stitched using Microsoft ICE from 3 shots on a NIKON D3200.
Go on view it original and see if you can spot someone in a red top or a Scottish flag ?
The ancient, by digital camera standards, Kodak DC 240 Zoom worked briefly, before coming up with a "00" message.
I wonder if the card in it is iffy. I put a different card in, and it seems to be working fine again.

Alright, so I got a new camera today, and I'm super excited! The one I used before was my parents', so now I actually have my own to mess with! I paid for most of it, too. Yay! As soon as we got home, I started playing with it. It has 5x optical zoom and 8.1 megapixels. I'm lovin' it! Just a little clump of clover. Testing out the closeup capability on this camera.
Just as IP camera manufacturers are widening their offering and making it increasingly difficult for integrators to continue arguing the case for analogue, so lens producers are widening their megapixel offerings. Fujinon have introduced a 32x megapixel zoom, the D32x15.6HR4D, which will support resolution of up to 1.3 megapixels. Wide aperture can be F3.9 and the auto iris can be DC or video type with preset function.
The optical design avoids the problem of focus shift between day and night-time modes and integrators will find the unit valuable on projects requiring 24-hour surveillance. Perimeter security at large sites such as military bases and highways are obvious applications for end-users demanding a high level of Rotakin performance.
