My heavily converted Adeptus Mechanicus army. Converted mainly from Space Marine bodies, Westwind Productions heads and Green Stuff.
Back on the ghost horse :)
Painted much the same way as the Chainrasps but with a different cloth recipe using Mechanicus Standard Grey, Administratum Grey, Nuln Oil and Ulthuan Grey with some thinned Black for specific shading.
The hafts are a thin coat of Baneblade Brown with a wash of Athonian Camoshade, then rough edge highlights with Administratum Grey and a heavy wash of Nuln Oil.
The skulls are Zandri Dust and Ushabt Bone with an Agrax wash and then detailed washes/lining using an Agrax/Abaddon Black lining mix.
Bases next and whatever stuff I've forgotten.

This is a techmarine dreadnought I made. The base is the Forge World Mk IV Ironclad with a siege layout (assault drill and flamestorm arm). The servo arm is from the Forge World Bombard and the other servo arms on the front are custom made.

Painted the "blackstone" in Mechanicus Standard Grey and washed with Nuln Oil and a mix of Abbaddon Black and Nuln Oil.
Then edge highlighted with Celestra Grey and Schminke white ink before washing with Naggaroth Nightshade (dark blue) and Asurmen Purple.
The bases are Rakarth Flesh with washes of Gryphonne Sepia and patchy Reikland Fleshshade. I picked out stones in Celestra Grey, Zandri Dust and Mechanicus Standard Grey and drybrushed with Screaming Skull and Pallid Wych Flesh.
I also gave the legs a dry-brush with Necron Compound, which had gone off a bit since I bought it.

The model itself was painted using a limited range of paints as a full test model for the other Tau battlesuits being used in the army.
The blue-grey armour was basecoated by spraying the model with the Chaos Black spray paint before applying a layer of Dark Reaper to the armour panels. An edge highlight of Thunderhawk Blue finished off the armour panels.
As the army's secondary colour (applied to the cloth parts of Fire Warriors and Pathfinders) is grey, a small number of armour panels were painted with Mechanicus Standard Grey, before being highlighted with Dawnstone.
In addition, the joints were painted with an edge highlight of Mechanicus Standard Grey, while the gold sections were painted with Baltasar Gold, a wash of Agrax Earthshade and a layer of Gehenna's Gold.
The white helmet and the reversed Fire Caste symbols were painted first with a basecoat of Celestra Grey, before a layer of 1:1 mix of Celestra Grey and White Scar and then an edge highlight of White Scar. A shading layer of Mechanicus Standard grey was applied to the most recessed parts of the sensor vanes and the helmet.
As Te'vos is part of the T'au cadre, the sept markings were all painted with White Scar using a Fine Detail Brush. On the helmet, where the colours are reversed, the sept markings are painted using Dark Reaper

FTMC = Fuck the Codex Mechanicus
The Emperor said, do not advance our weapons. Trust their function, pray for your succes in the fight. We start a heresy. We took the Pulserifles of the Tau Firewarriors and give them our personal Imperial Guard Touch. Do not advance your Weapons? I dont take orders from a dead God. We dont fight for an Emperor, but we shall fight for our Empire.
Part of a set of six photos of the Company Master model from the Dark Vengeance box set. The model was painted to a deliberate limit of 10 hours in an attempt to speed up its creation.
