A new partnership between the College of DuPage Culinary Arts program and Alexian Brothers Hospice combines cooking instruction with support for men and women moving past the death of their spouses. Every semester, David Kramer, Associate Professor of Culinary Arts, and Laura Lerdal, Culinary Market Supervisor and Lab Coordinator, present “Cooking for 1,” a free demonstration or lab that focuses on cooking techniques for one. Participants also have a chance to help each other as they learn to live on their own.
