Rio Grande had a maximum speed of 30 mph for freight and passenger trains for eight city blocks in the heart of Provo City. D&RGW 3119 has emerged from the restriction, accelerating back up to speed at Provo Junction the evening of July 28, 1977.

The height of the tide in colour
Both these images are roughly the same view point (as the slippery pebbles would allow) The colour seems to be more about what first attracted me to this marker, the progressively diminishing rust marking the maximum extent of the tide

A solstice is an astronomical event that occurs twice a year, when the tilt of the Earth's axis is most oriented toward or away from the Sun, causing the Sun to reach its northernmost or southernmost extreme. The name is derived from the Latin sol (sun) and sistere (to stand still), because at the solstices, the Sun stands still in declination; that is, its apparent movement north or south comes to a standstill.
The term solstice can also be used in a wider sense, as the date (day) that such a passage happens. The solstices, together with the equinoxes, are connected with the seasons. In some languages they are considered to start or separate the seasons; in others they are considered to be centre points.
Of the many ways in which solstice can be defined, one of the most common (and perhaps most easily understood) is by the astronomical phenomenon for which it is named, which is readily observable by anyone on Earth: a "sun-standing." This modern scientific word descends from a Latin scientific word in use in the late Roman republic of the 1st century BC: solstitium. Pliny uses it a number of times in his Natural History with the meaning it still has, but the word is in common use in other authors. It contains two Latin-language segments, sol, "sun", and -stitium, "stoppage." By this "standing" the Romans meant a component of the relative velocity of the sun as it is observed in the sky. Relative velocity is the motion of an object from the point of view of an observer in a frame of reference; for example, if it is true that seen from a space ship the Earth orbits the sun, it is also true that seen from the Earth the sun orbits the Earth. Relative velocity is quite real; that is, the perceived motions of objects are entirely relative to point of view; one and the same motion appears different from different frames of reference, and there is no absolute frame of reference from which all other motions are to be described.
To an observer in inertial space, perhaps in a space craft, the Earth rotates about an axis and revolves around the sun in an elliptical path with the sun at one focus. This is the point of view of writers of astronomy textbooks. The Earth's axis is tilted rather than perpendicular to the plane of the Earth's orbit and this axis maintains a position that changes little (but does change) with respect to the background of stars. An observer on Earth therefore sees a solar path that is the result of both rotation and revolution.
The component of the sun's motion seen by an Earth-bound observer caused by the revolution of the tilted axis, which, keeping the same angle in space, is oriented toward or away from the sun, is an observed diurnal increment (and lateral offset) of the elevation of the sun at noon for roughly six months and observed daily decrement for the remaining six months. At maximum or minimum elevation the relative motion at 90° to the horizon stops and changes direction by 180°. The maximum is the summer solstice and the minimum is the winter solstice. The path of the sun, or ecliptic, sweeps north and south between the northern and southern hemispheres. Around the summer solstice the days are longest and the shortest around the winter solstice. When the path crosses the equator the days and nights are of equal length, a condition called an equinox. There are two solstices and two equinoxes.
Hi there! Dig this cool cab-over Mitsubishi truck I saw in The Junction. I would totally drive this thing !
Even the toughest heroes can crack sometimes and when Charles Deccon, self-proclaimed "Hero" and best friend of Jabberwock, was about to find out how this exactly felt, the unexpected happened. Despite being in a severe state of disrepair, Deccon had pushed himself and his armour well beyond their very limits and he was about to revert back to his human form. This would mean the end of him as the opposing forces would surely crush him and his friends, leaving all that was fought for in vain..
Without warning, the armor reacted and started glowing furiously with a white light that completely enveloped him. Deccon thought his time had finally come and an Angelwas about to take him from the plane of mortals but when he opened his eye he realized he wasstill wearing his armor, which was shining as if nothing ever happened to it. Now stronger than ever, Deccon made good use of his newfound power and upgraded armor.
TL:DR: I uppgraded my secondary selfmoc, Charles Deccon into something I had been envisioning for him for a very long time. His base-proportions haven't changed but despite the fact I added relatively little to the existing frame I still consider this a V2.

Our annual Harvest Fest for the backyard visitors was a huge success with all.
With four pumpkins, two of them carved, gourds, Indian corn, almonds, pecans, peanuts, pumpkin seeds, corn, brazil nuts, hazel nuts and sunflower seed setting the stage, everyone felt like a star whenever a treat or two was discovered.
In case of this chipmunk there's no telling how many treats are packed into those cheeks.
**For those of you who know me, if you saw the squirrel photos yesterday, then you probably guessed chippie shots were next!

Ever feel so full of different ideas that you just seem to be bursting yet at the same time you can't harness all the energy inside your head to actually follow through on any of them? That's kind of where I'm at lately! I feel like my brain is steaming from thinking so much but I can't seem to make it stop and focus on one thing so that I can actually start doing the things I want!
With that said, I'm happy to announce that The Teleidoscope will be opening up again next week, to do a round 2! It will be 52 weeks of themes, giving everyone who plays along the chance to interpret the theme in their own way. I hope you take a look and join the group!
In my christmas stocking I got a neat magazine of photoshop tutorials and one of them was for creating exploding lightbulbs, it was actually perfect timing as I wanted to do a shot just like this but wasn't sure how to make it work!

Up close with a White Underwing Moth, Catocala relicta; Montana. Underwing moths are so-called because their hind wings, normally hidden while the moths are at rest, flash bright colors and/or patterns when the moths fly or are disturbed, possibly as a strategy to temporarily startle potential predators.

Canyon Devil's Gate (Khosta).
Russia, Krasnodar region, the city of Sochi.
The canyon is located near the town of Khosta, about 24 kilometers from the center of Sochi and 14 kilometers from Adler.
This is a rare natural site on the border of the Caucasus Natural Biosphere Reserve and the Sochi National Park.
The length of the canyon is Devil's Gate about 800 (eight hundred) meters, the height of the steep walls is more than 50 (fifty) meters, the width at the narrowest point is 3 (three) meters, and the maximum depth is 4.5 (four and a half) meters in the summer months.
At the confluence of the Vostochnaya (Big) Khosta River and the Zapadnaya (Small) Khosta River there is a small lake that is buried in the shadow of the Colchian forest. Green ferns, mosses and relic boxwood cover the shores of the reservoir. These plants came to us from the far preglacial period and remember the ancient dinosaurs. Shadow and coolness, the murmur of river water and the unique nature make the place popular for visiting. The walls of the canyon are narrowed, the bowl of the lake is closed by a narrow gorge of the gorge along which the water of the Bolshaya Khosta river flows.

Yes I know I haven’t posted on Flickr in a while, deal with it.
After seeing DP2, o really wanted to make some more figs, for those who haven’t been here in the past year, i made and posted Domino last August when the first promotional images came out.
Deadpool was simple. Straps are etape, I glued the sword holster on the back, and the belt are the LBM belt pouches I glued on. I haven’t seen to many people use the dark red base, and personally I like the colour more than bright red.
Cable was heavily inspired by Alex Version he made last year. The vest is etape, along with the boot cuffs. The gun holsters and pouches are all sculpted, as well as the hair.
That’s about it, was gonna make some more but don’t expect too much from me since I have some heavy personal shit going on right now.
Thoughts and Suggestions appreciated!!
Nihondaira (日本平) is a scenic area located in Shimizu-ku, Shizuoka, Japan.
A plateau at the centre of Shizuoka city, with a maximum altitude of 308 metres (1,010 ft), Nihondaira is famous for its views of Mt. Fuji, the Izu Peninsula, the Japanese Southern Alps, Shimizu Port, and Suruga Bay. It was selected by the Tokyo Nichi Nichi Shimbun and Osaka Mainichi Shimbun. as one of the top 100 Landscapes of Japan in 1927.
The Nihondaira Ropeway connects Nihondaira to Kunozan Toshogu Shrine in 5 minutes. The area lends its name to the home stadium of J. League football team Shimizu S-Pulse, who play at Nihondaira Stadium.

What is it? The bolt is obvious but what is it part of? Hint - it's found outdoors... Shot for Macro Mondays but Flickr's telling me I've already added the maximum number of photo's to this group... I'm confused and disappointed - do we have to remove photo's from groups ? I've never come across this before... Anyone else have trouble like this?
