Robben Island maximum security wing. If it's not too flippant to say this - walking into it felt strangely unreal. Almost like walking onto a prison film set. I half expected to see Morgan Freeman.
Unlike its counterpart Lok Baintan, which is an informal gathering of villagers trading and bartering their own products to the Banjar community, the Muara Kuin market is commercially focused. The boats are bigger, the volumes are bigger and the pace faster. At one time it was the biggest floating market in Indonesia but in recent years, the market has declined as many merchants have moved across to the adjacent land-based market. Despite this, the Muara Kuin market is still well worth a look, both on the water and on land.

Not the mirrors, that's minimal weirdness. The cleaning lady was in the bathroom the entire time I was trying to take a whizz, maximum weirdness.
I recreated the maximum depth of field, image 6. The image my photo is based off of, is much darker. I chose to focus on the content of flowers and recreate that how I could. I personally like the lighter tones. I was shooting in between bouts of rain, and I love the drops of water visible on the petals and leaves. The original baby roses are a vibrant coral pink, but I think the black and white still captures the details beautifully.
