This garden terrace is one of five different terraces or parterres that can serve as possible filming and photography backdrops at The Villa Sophia photography location in Los Angeles. You could shoot for days at The Villa Sophia and not cover all the possible spots for taking pictures and filming. All of the areas have unique views. You can see the Pacific ocean and the Griffith Park Observatory from this spot.
Step back in time to an era of grace and elegance at The Villa Sophia photography location in the Los Feliz Hills of Los Angeles. This is the real "Old Hollywood" that you only read about. Here, the Hollywood of your dreams still exists like a warp in time. "Surreal" is a word often used to describe this blessed place. In this picture the couple leans against the handmade concrete balustrade next to an iron urn filled with flowers. From this hilltop, the sky and the magnificent views of the city of Los Angeles, California fill the background.
The collage of the things on my desk: a leftover candy cane from Christmas, peanut Ginger chews, a dime, a nickle, and a Snapple cap.
The Snapple cap reads: "In Ancient Greece throwing an apple to a woman was considered a marriage proposal." Ha! Men would be in so much trouble nowadays...

I have titled this image "the proposal" in Spanish because it looks like a marriage proposal and it occurred in Puerto Rico. I have used a filter to make a "painted effect" and I like the way it looks. I hope all my Flickr friends like it too!
Taken with Nikon D300 and Nikkor 24-120 f4 VR lens.
My good buddy Ryan contracted me to perform some covert photography. She said yes!

These candid marriage proposal photos were taken in New York City’s Central Park at the Wollman ice skating rink. We were hired by Steven, the groom, to take photos and video without being noticed by his girlfriend. He specifically requested that we focus on his girlfriend to capture her facial expressions and reaction to his special marriage proposal. Steven later gave her the photos and video as a Christmas gift. See the Video here: Central Park Marriage Proposal Video

When Michael Behrmann wanted to propose to his girlfriend Erika Peace, he wanted it to be memorable. So he booked a "Love Tour" at the Currier Museum of Art for their anniversary and came up with a unique work of art to incorporate into the tour. He recorded his voice asking the question "Will you marry me?" and sent it to a company that creates art out of sound waves and had it printed on canvas. The tour concluded in the museum's historic court where Erika read the question on the canvas and very happily agreed.
Congratulations to you Erika and Michael. Wishing you a lifetime of love, happiness and art!
Seen at the 2011 Celtic Fest Parade.
The VPD Motorcycle Drill Team often entertains the crowd at the beginning of the parade. On this day when they had finished their performance they just stopped where they were. One of the officers got off of his bike and called out a name to the crowd. This lady stepped forward and as she did another officer got off his bike and walked towards her. He surprised her and everyone watching when he got down on his knee to propose. . . . . and she did say yes!
The Villa Sophia photography location in Los Angeles is on the edge of the 4300 acre (6.7 sq. mile) Griffith Park, giving the location a surprising countryside setting. There are wooded areas all around and also views into the far distance that evoke scenes of the rolling yellow hills of the Tuscan countryside. Hard to believe you are in the big city. Hourly and daily rates.
