Engagement photography.
Stumbled upon this heart warming scene. A photographer capturing the biggest moment in this young couple's life.
Out of respect to the couple's privacy, my focus was centered on the photographer, who was fully 'engaged' in preserving their magical moment.
'The Poposal'
Late afternoon today.
Lavender Bay, Sydney.
Saturday, 15th April, 2023.
During my usual Saturday trek around the harbour today I discovered, by chance, this elaborate setting near the wharf at Lavender Bay. It was a marriage proposal complete with roses, candles, a 'Marry Me' sign, and a photographer (or two, lol), not to mention a bridge and a skyline.
Now why did I not think to do this some years ago?

As I was photographing the Boulder County Courthouse (shown in the first comment below), a couple walked in front of me. The guy seemed to start a argument with his girlfriend, but instead he dropped to one knee and raised a ring...he was proposing. She seemed momentarily stunned, but then squealed "yes, yes, yes."
They embraced amid more "Yes, yes", and he stayed on that knee all the while! Hopefully, they will always be as happy and excited with each other for many years to come.

This is a genuine marriage proposal, I was wandering around Welwyn Garden City and wanted to photograph the light tunnel. On arrival a young couple was there so I asked if they would mind being in my shot. Much to my astonishment the scene I was recording was a marriage proposal which was accepted. We then exchanged details and I sent them a picture. Later in the day I asked them for permission to upload this picture. Such a wonderful moment and a delight to witness.
We'd gone out for dinner after a grey day that saw most of the accumulated snow disappear - and were promptly chased indoors by a fast approaching thunderstorm. That's a bit unusual for this time of year but the meal was good and we stayed dry while the rain came down in earnest. There was even a severe thunderstorm warning issued by Environment Canada. As we left for home, my wife was sure she heard the fellow in this gazebo proposing to his girlfriend. We had just enough time to grab a shot and get back to the car, when the rain came again.

I went down to the dam again this evening to see if the lovers were back. They were. Gazing at each other as the sun set and touching each other intimately with their antennae. I had the feeling that he popped the question tonight.
This will be a gift for my wife for our upcomming 1 year wedding anniversary. I had a blast designing this.
The parts will arrive next week. I hope she will like it!
So...this happened today...my daughter received a marriage proposal from her longtime boyfriend. She said "Yes!" and he was even thoughtful enough to ask her mother and I to be there along with his parents. It took place in Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains inside the old Missionary Baptist Church. Very well planned by Tyler and Maddie was completely in the dark...congratulations and we love you both!!

Our Daily Challenge: Clouds
Hehe, sometimes you have to get a bit creative with a challenge. This was the photo challenge a couple of days ago. Hmm, clouds, San Diego.....that wasn’t gonna happen. This is an image taken at Victoria Beach in the town of Laguna Beach. A stairway leading to the beach was made to look like a pirate’s tower. Evidently this is a popular place for portraits, engagement shoots, maternity shoots, and marriage proposals. One hopeful groom hired a opera singer to serenade his sweetheart before he popped the question. It was a beautiful evening! Truth be told, I added the clouds; can you tell? For fun, I also made the image into a painting.
Thank you so much for your views, comments and favs. I really do appreciate every one!

Getting ready on the big day with curlers and a cappuccino.. Bridal Photo Shoot at The Villa Sophia photography location in Los Angeles.
I walked into a love proposal on a blocked-off part of the pedestrian bridge in Nashville. Proposing is a nerve-racking affair. With pre-arranged flowers and videographers, the man read out loud to his soon-to-be fiancé to perfectly share his thoughts word by word so that he wouldn't mess up. She quietly read along as he said the words. It was something about how she lit the sky for him, with the punch line: "Will you marry me?"
She answered, “yes.”
We saw this proposal from up on the bluff and zoomed but still didn't get the woman being proposed to. The friends were so close and oohing and ahhing; I wanted to yell down to get out of the way! I saved this one for Valentine's Day.
(Benni update - she's eating her kibble and wanting short walks. Seeming more normal each day and being excited about our comings and goings. Life is GOOD!)
