first try at a bulletin design, version 2
i'm just a guy in the church, not trained, so be thorough in your critique, if you wouldn't mind. A run-down of the week's events would be printed weekly on the back. It is a 16 month series through the entire book of Mark.

The Great Limerick Run 2013 (Marathon, Half Marathon, Relay, and 6 Mile) races were held in Limerick City, Ireland on Sunday 4th of May 2013 starting at 09:00. This was a very large mass participation event which is now firmly established on the Irish running calendar. These are a set of a photographs from: the start of the marathon, the mile 2 mark of the mark, the half way point of the marathon (to about a 3:40 finishing time), a selection from mile 20 of the marathon. In this set there is a selection of photographs from the 6 mile race. These sets of photographs will not include every competitor. How can I get a full resolution copy of these photographs?
All of the photographs here on this Flickr set have a visible watermark embedded in them. All of the photographs posted here on this Flickr set are available, free, at no cost, at full resolution WITHOUT watermark. We take these photographs as a hobby and as a contribution to the running community in Ireland. We do not know of any other photographers who operate such a policy. Our only "cost" is our request that if you are using these images: (1) on social media sites such as Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, Twitter,LinkedIn, Google+, Google Orkut etc or (2) other websites, web multimedia, commercial/promotional material that you provide a link back to our Flickr page to attribute us. This also means the use of these images for Facebook profile pictures. In these cases please make a wall post with a link to our Flickr page. If you do not know how this should be done for Facebook or other media please email us and we will be happy to help suggest how to link to us.

I ran the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set!
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.

ACROSS TRUST Van Hool T816 Altano Jumbulance mark XVI (16) built in 1993. This was the launch in London. Mk 16 was similar to the 1990 Mk 15 Altano but with Van Hool's 'New Look' styling. This vehicle passed to The Jumbulance Trust when ACROSS ceased in 2001

Mark is magical. The angles and compound cuts were brutal, but he cranked out this beauty! IT LOOKS SO GOOD. The windows are angled out and back - It really makes the boat look great.

Date: February 23rd 2015. Time: 12.35: Apart from the yellow front end, the colours of Freightliner’s loco match those of the menacing Winter sky as a storm approaches Marks Tey from the west. In this wide-angle shot, Class 90, 90047 races ahead of the rain with a Crewe to Felixstowe Freightliner.
3-Mile-Mark: This is a photograph from the 2023 Mullingar Half Marathon which was held in the town of Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Friday 17th March 2023 (St. Patrick's Day) at 10:00. This photograph was taken at the 3-mile mark just before the water station at Curraghmore School.
All proceeds of the Mullingar Half Marathon go to the charity T.E.A.M. (Temporary Emergency Accommodation Midlands). The race starts and finishes in Mullingar town and takes in some rural roads and the Royal Canal Greenway before finishing in the town park. Overall, the route is fair and reasonably flat. Today's weather unseasonably mild but very very wet from the start until the finish with many runners remarking that it was one of the wettest races they've ran in years.

Our son is a captain in Naples, Florida with his own fishing and diving business! This ornament reminds us of him.

Mark Aerial Waller
Films that move across science fiction, Greek tragedy and documentary, unveiling fantastical narratives.
Mark Aerial Waller is in the Theatre on 13 October.
Mark Aerial Waller (born High Wycombe, 1969, lives in London) makes videos and installations that pay homage to the experimental techniques of the avant-garde – from Surrealism to New German Cinema – within his idiosyncratic narrative frameworks. Indeed, Waller shows a cheerful disregard for linearity, leaping across time zones and genres from classical mythology to science fiction, and collaging sequences from forgotten films and classical plays with his own footage. In addition to his art practice, he uses his film salon The Wayward Canon – and Taverna Especial, a sister salon set up with Giles Round – to provide a platform for 'wayward' re-presentations of little-screened films.
For Nought to Sixty, Waller gives his own newly completed film cycle, Resistance Domination Secret (2007-08), the 'wayward' treatment, presenting a one-off film screening with live action.
Waller's trilogy is based loosely on the Oresteia, Aeschylus's trilogy of Greek tragedies centring on the murder of Trojan war hero Agamemnon by his wife Clytemnestra. The first film, also called Resistance Domination Secret, visualises the murdered Agamemnon as a disembodied golden mask hovering ominously over hellish flames and chastising his wife from beyond the grave: "You treat me like a woman...". Waller's homemade mythological drama is spliced with clips from Les Visiteurs du Soir (1942), a film made by Marcel Carné during the French occupation, about a pair of 15th-century envoys sent by the devil to disrupt a wedding feast by seducing the bride and groom. Their evil plan goes wrong when one falls in love with his prey, prompting the heroine to muse on the irony of two torturers with no one left to torture. Some 2,000 years divide these two wartime dramas, but both seek to allegorise the violent rupture of a moral order, whether by bloodthirsty ancient warriors or the Nazis.
Waller's second film, The Flipside of Darkness (2007), roughly corresponds to The Libation Bearers, the second of Aeschylus's plays. The setting has shifted to Warsaw's Palace of Culture and Science, creating a link between the brutality of the Stalinist regime and that of ancient Greece. As with all Waller's videos, the actors could be considered woefully ill-suited to their roles, but paradoxically come across as charmingly sincere: Clytemnestra's thick Polish accent seems to contradict her claims to be a BBC actress; while her murderous son, Orestes, speaks with Michael Caine-style intonation. Waller strips out all the gore from the original play and focuses on the psychological drama of incestuous scheming and paranoia, which he represents symbolically by kaleidoscopic visuals set to a disorientating, sci-fi soundtrack by the band Romvelope.
Waller's final film, premiering at Nought to Sixty, mirrors The Eumenides, the third play of the Oresteia, where darkness is turned into light, physical conflict becomes religious combat and primitive ritual evolves into civilised institution. The screening is being set to live military drumming by virtuoso percussionist " " [sic] TIM GOLDIE; and features a striking finale in which Athena, in the form of an owl, swoops down to capture Agamemnon's golden mask – before the trilogy begins again.

Thoughts/what makes me angry:
-Where do I begin?
Angry, gives me permission to make spiky lines and scribble everything out. Make crosses.
I listened to a range of rock/heavy metal music such as: Linkin Park, Prodigy, Paparoach, Alice Cooper.
I usually express anger through painting or writing, here I was doing a creative activity of a different kind. It's good to feel anger sometimes, it brings out a more expressive you to the surface. People do productive things with their anger - singing, poetry, art. Telling people how you feel (which is healthy) in a creative form (expressive). It's ok to feel angry (it's natural), channeling anger into a positive action turns it into opportunity/optimism. Everything happens out of either inspiration or frustration.
Anger wasn't a hard emotion to capture as I first thought, it felt good to do jagged lines, scribbles and going over marks. It made me think more about the type of things that make me angry and question why people do certain things.

Biographie
Formé à l’École des Beaux-Arts de Hartford dans le Connecticut (Bachelor of Fine Arts en 1986, doctorat honoris causa en 2003), Mark Dion explore depuis les années 1990 les croisements entre art et science. "Mark Dion détourne les méthodes et conventions des sciences naturelles et, partant, dénonce l’idéologie qui les sous-tend[1]". Ce n’est pas tant la nature qui intéresse l’artiste mais l’idée de nature. Dans son travail, Dion cherche à déconstruire les codes visuels et idéologiques qui ont, au cours de l’histoire, formaté notre connaissance et notre expérience de la nature.
Au cœur même des institutions culturelles et scientifiques (muséums d’histoire naturelle, musées d’art, zoos…), Mark Dion réalise des cabinets de curiosités sans que leur présentation n’obéisse à une classification conventionnelle. Ainsi, squelettes, végétaux, bocaux, livres, animaux naturalisés ou encore peluches se côtoient librement, l’artiste refusant toute hiérarchie entre l’ancien et le récent, le banal et le rare, le noble et le vulgaire. Au travers de ces dispositifs, Dion remet en question la fonction de la collection dans la constitution des savoirs mais également les choix et classements parfois arbitraires opérés dans les musées.
D’autres fois encore, le travail de l’artiste relève d’une performance au cours de laquelle il endosse le rôle d’un archéologue, d’un explorateur ou d’un entomologiste. Il effectue alors des fouilles dans des lieux improbables, le plus souvent négligés des spécialistes. Les objets qu’il découvre sont conservés sans aucune distinction de valeur car tous sont pour lui révélateurs d’une culture et d’une époque. Également archéologue du paysage, Dion s’intéresse tout particulièrement à la disparition des animaux et à l’impact de l’Homme sur son environnement.

Le donjon de l’ours qui dort, Seyne-les-Alpes (2011)Modifier
L'œuvre que Mark Dion a réalisée dans le cadre du VIAPAC consiste en la création d'un parcours dans le fort de Seyne-les-Alpes menant, au son d’un bruit sourd, à une cellule où un ours enchaîné dort. Durant sa période d’hibernation, l’ours quitte son cachot pour une cage de verre installée dans l’Office de tourisme de la ville, aux yeux de tous. Il n’a plus de chaîne autour du cou mais reste toujours prisonnier. À la fois vénéré et diabolisé, admiré et pourchassé, l’ours s’incarne dans de multiples contradictions. On le sait sauvage mais on préfère le penser doux comme une peluche. Cet animal hybride symbolise pour l’artiste toute la bestialité de l’homme.
Cabane Sommer, Musée de la chasse et de la nature, Paris (2007)Modifier
En hommage aux créateurs de la Fondation de la Maison de la chasse et de la nature, François et Jacqueline Sommer, Mark Dion a réalisé au dernier étage du musée une petite cabane de bois qui rappelle celle des Sommer à Bel-Val, au cœur de leur domaine de chasse situé dans les Ardennes. À l’intérieur, une série d’objets et de souvenirs personnels ayant appartenu aux Sommer.

Mark Dion a réalisé ce cabinet de curiosité en appliquant une classification propre à la Renaissance, en fonction des quatre éléments (le feu, l’air, l’eau et la terre). Les objets sont également rangés selon la théorie de l’évolutionnisme : depuis le point ultime de la civilisation jusqu’aux choses inertes de la terre. Polysémique, ce cabinet de curiosités détourné regorge d’allusions tout aussi érudites qu’humoristiques.
